The video was posted after we did our Hearth’s Warming Compilation, that’s why it wasn’t on there. Didn’t expect to see a hip-hop beat made from a toy store commercial, but hey, it works! Check out this (belated) special holiday song from Woot, it got good beats.
Taken from the recent Pinkamena Party CH32RISTMAS album, this gabber track from Inkling Bear harks back to season 1, and follow our icy friend’s signature hardcore style with insane synths riffs. Enjoy gabber as part of a balanced anarchic breakfast.
Featuring production by himself with some guitar from Redd and extra vocals from Cadie, Ataraxia and Sylver, Vylet continues his tradition of releasing a new version of ‘No Matter What’. This track showcases what Vylet can do with orchestral libraries, and combines some soothing yet relatively upbeat sections with powerful percussion. string and vocal filled sections.
BL1NKY has been around the music scene for a while, previously going under the alias Core-Ridor and appearing on a couple of the Balloon Party albums and more recently having appeared on a couple of the Ponies at Dawn ones. He’s been a bit silent recently, but he’s back with a chilled out neuro-style dubstep track. The intro and break are pretty relaxed, whilst the drops are relatively mellow too and focus more on some cool neuro design than the heavy wubs you might expect. Make sure to check it out below for a pretty neat track!
This irregularly scheduled episode of the Horse Music Hotspot aired on Tuesday afternoon on PonyvilleFM…well, there were a couple of issues with the broadcast, so whether you wanted to hear the rest of this, or missed it completely, here’s December’s episode, available on YouTube, SoundCloud, and our podcast feed.
As the year draws to a close, not only do we take a look at the best songs from December, but each of our staff chose their 3 favourite pony songs from the whole of 2016! So buckle up for a special extended edition of the Horse Music Hotspot – the last of the year.
To listen in live, tune in to Ponyville FM at 10PM Eastern on the last Sunday of each month!
Tracklist and embeds available after the break
After a few collaborations between Cainbow Rrash and one half of A Symphony of Two, here now comes a completely different style of orchestral, produced by Cainbow alongside the full double of ASoT. Compared to their relatively light tracks, this piece is heavy, strong, and powerful as it steadily grows more epic over time. Inspired by the feel given off by a lot of Hans Zimmer’s music, the epic nature absolutely brings this across. The foreboding atmosphere perfectly represents the impending march of the Changelings, and this is certainly one of my favourite collaborations these guys have done so far.
Quicksilver is back with another new fun heavy punk rock track that focuses on another silly topic, having already explored others such as socks and celestia’s presence in his washing machine earlier this year. This track focuses on Celestia’s totally-not-an-addiction to… dessert? It’s a pretty fun thing to sing about and it definitely comes across that Quicksilver had some fun with this.
Christmas Hearth’s Warming, and so people are making festive music. And not just individual songs, entire albums too! Check it all out after the break.
My Sweet Peace is one of WoodLore’s most celebrated tracks, and here Jyc Row has taken it and turned it into an orchestral epic. 6 minutes in length, it builds through the vocals and some well placed orchestral elements, giving way to some more powerful vocal sounds and strings, and that trademark celtic feel of Jyc’s tracks. A really awesome reinterpretation, it’s definitely worth giving a listen!
HOLY MOLY I WASN’T PREPARED FOR THIS. *ahem* A pleasant surprise to find in my subscription box, Exiark got Flittzy on board with vocals for his latest song, from an upcoming album (seemingly entirely about Luna)! Flittzy’s unique vocals and Exiark’s outstanding sound design and mixing go beautifully together in this deep, and melodically interesting dubstep track.
