Balloon Party – Chromatic Horizons | Album | Multi-Genre

Balloon Party have been one of the driving forces behind fandom compilation albums in the past, and whilst this new iteration, Chromatic Horizons, is a little smaller than previous releases, it’s still well worth checking out, full of top-notch tunes from in and around the fandom.

Chromatic Horizons is the 4th official iteration of Balloon Party, coming after the great success of their previous major releases 100% No Feeble Cheering, Rainbow and Rooted: Fours Fall Down, and Academy of Power: Mindscapes. Along the way there have also been a few smaller albums such as Equine Morality: The Clean Sweep.

With this edition, BP have moved away from the more pronounced pony references, but they’ve managed to keep the quality of the music as high as ever. The album contains a mix of tunes from more established fandom artists such as Silva Hound and Foozogz, less well-known artists such as Frozen Night and Ryazan, and even a few artists whom I’ve not heard of in the past, such as the thrice featured Paper Box, and twice-featured Junk Machine.

If you’re interested in checking it out, then make sure to visit their Bandcamp page where the full album is available for free or for a pay what you want donation.
