It starts out super chill and relaxing, easing you into the track as it slowly but surely builds as you listen, climaxing with a fire DnB drop towards the end before it eases to a close. Be ready to put your thinking cap on with this one from MC-Arch. He states that times have changed in the past four years within this community. His rhymes speak a great deal of reality for us, in addition to the perspective of his life, setting the tone with this track. A reflective beat pulls you into his message that life has been cruel and unkind to many these last few years, undeniable in these bars – the emotion of the delivery brings out all the feels. But this is Arch we are talking about; as the beat shifts, he turns that struggle into how much he has endured, overcome and inspires others to regain power and control destiny. Soft tones of the MLP theme pays homage to the people around him who supported him during challenging times. This is something special, even by MC-Arch’s standards. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Sparklight Productions – Paradox | Electronic EP
8 months in the making, Sparklight Productions presents their debut EP! This collection of 7 songs flows together with a unifying soundscape blending chillout, trap and lo-fi elements. Each one of the songs also represents a different aspect of mental health, and Sparklight’s goal with this project has been not only to document and express their own progression and stages of their journey, but also to break the stigma that still surrounds mental illness for many people.

Music that makes you think you are having a chill time with ponies like Tree Hugger and Fluttershy in a café on a cozy afternoon. As Tw3Lv3 had stated, the music she listens to relaxes, and the music she feels is in these tracks to give you those chill vibes. Haze Garden is the right blend of lo-fi and drum & bass mixing with perfection! This album is a testament to how good she has become! Let’s take a listen.

An underrated treasure from last month, Childlike Wonder mixes a lo-fi, and at times jazzy, backing instrumental with a creative rap which combines a stylistic flow with lyrics from an egotistical pink pony. Throw in a some Pinkie Pie vocal chops and a great video loop for the song, and you’ve got a can’t miss hit!
Drixale – No Second Chances | Lo-Fi
When Drixale describes this release as a “sentimental type beat,” he’s not kidding. Equal parts brooding and bittersweet, “No Second Chances” provides a warm palette of sounds perfect for zoning out to, punctuated by tasteful percussive glitches and quips from Starlight and Trixie.
BeatSpark – Eventide | Lo-Fi Hip Hop
Melancholic piano? Check. Filtered drums? Check. MLP samples? Check! Jokes aside, we have a short but bittersweet song here from BeatSpark that takes inspiration from a poignant moment in the MLP movie. Take a listen for some downtempo music that gives that rainy day kind of feel…and may be suitable to relax/study to…
GhostXb – Lunar Snowfall | Lo-fi
There is nothing more beautiful and comfy than Heart Warming (a.k.a. Christmas days!), it is the perfect moment for celebrating and sharing those priceless moments we have with our family, and when chilling with our friends as well! and GhostXb knows this, and the track sounds just like that. GhostXb tells us that he took for inspiration a Wonderful fan art showing Princess Luna gazing at a cold night full of stars and the gentle snow falling from the sky. There are not enough words that describe how great the image looks, so that is why our dear friend decided to make a soundtrack for it and to show us those feelings one has when we are at these moments of the year. The track begins with a small tambourine rhythm and a crystalline piano melody that instantly sets you in the mood for this cozy song. We can hear some warm guitars strumming around, accompanied by those sweet keys in conjunct of neat drums that are just phenomenal. The track continues incorporating new melodies and chords (yes, this tune even has that “Christmas-ish chord” that makes everything sound nostalgic!). We can also listen to some strings, bells, and more tambourines. The atmosphere is just great. So, what are you waiting for! Go and have a pleasant time listening to this excellent song!
CAPT – Merry! | Lo-fi / Drum & Bass
CAPT never ceases to amaze with their work! I personally am a sucker for theory style of production, and this song is just so wonderfully done! It starts out with a really fun melody, which slowly fades in as more elements are added along with a riser, resulting in some of the most fun DnB ever! Everything about this is so amazingly cute and wonderful. Around the middle we get a bit of a switch up as we keep the melody but move into some new elements and instruments. We end this wonderful track with a very fitting crash.
