Vylet Pony – Ember | Indie Pop / Chillout

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 2 April 2018.

A new track from Vylet’s recently released EP Our Light And Ever After, this is certainly one of Vylet’s most beautiful tracks yet in my opinion. The vocals through the track are excellently performed and come across really heartfelt, whilst the minimalist instrumental manages to combine a chilled out feel with some wonderful depth and emotion.

Ataraxia’s piano music continues to be as beautiful as always. The reverb and sustain on the notes helps to add to their weight, as they weave a wonderful atmosphere. The composition of every note feels very deliberate, and it all works terrifically well.

It’s that time again, where new songs from the show mean some musicians giving their own unique takes on them! Osoch has already managed to put together a few great metal show covers, so it’s no surprise to see this one from him. It makes good use of the vocals from the original, with some heavy guitar and percussion adding some nice energy.

A commission for a story by artist ‘Dreams Of Ponies’, this piece from Vylet is subtle and subdued, with some excellent play between different instruments throughout the track. It definitely carries a nice air of playfulness and mystery thanks to the lovely composition.
