[P@D] Tripon – Windigo Stomp | Neurofunk

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 7 May 2018.

Tripon’s neurofunk works are always great fun to vibe along to, and this one is exceptional in its flow. Based around the attack of the windigoes, clean drum & bass percussion is supplemented by strong neuro sound design and atmospheric pads.

[P@D] Faulty – Path Back To Harmony (feat. ThatMusicBrony) | Progressive House

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 6 May 2018.

Honestly, this is one of my favourite releases of the year so far, as Faulty continues to impress. Featuring some spellbinding vocals from ThatMusicBrony which fit with the instrumental perfectly, this chilled out house tune speaks of the internal struggle the mane 6 go through after Discord removes the powers of the elements of harmony from them. It’s beautifully put together with some lovely lyricism, plus some terrific vocal chops towards the end, and really well worth a listen.

[P@D] lia;quo – From The Ashes | Melodic Dubstep

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 2 May 2018.

lia;quo’s Japanese stylings always make for some super interesting music, and here is no different, with a new melodic dubstep tune inspired by Twilight’s struggles through the MLP movie. Soft vocals sung in Japanese fit beautifully with some lovely composition and subtle synths, before some powerful drops that excellently blend emotional chords and cool bass design.

Chris Wöhrer – Nonsense | Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 2 May 2018.

A follow up to his last Discord-related song, Chris is back with another instrumental metal tune that wastes no time getting into things. Powerful and hectic right from the start, it’s a fun track that keeps things clean yet chaotic at the same time. Check it out for some pretty awesome guitar stuff!

[P@D] Syzy – Say Your Prayers | Dubstep

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 23 April 2018.

When the pony of shadows comes, you’d better say your prayers! They weren’t especially well developed, but the character design was really super cool. What’s also really cool is this new tune from Syzy, which goes unashamedly hard right from the start. Powerful battle drums lead into a heavy drop that showcases an awesome variety of contemporary sound design, coupled with a fantastic foreboding atmosphere.

Elias Frost is at it again with a new cover of the song from the recent CMC episode. He’s given it a pretty neat makeover in his usual style, with a great music video to go along with it.

Daniel Ingram – We’re Not Flawless (JoinedTheHerd Remix) | House

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 30 April 2018.

Hot off the heels of his last remix, JoinedTheHerd has another one for us! Flawless gets his remix treatment this time, and he’s definitely done an awesome job with it. The vocal chopping through the track is gorgeous, and the synthplay through the track is heaps of fun too.

Jyc Row – Sombra Boss Theme | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 1 May 2018.

With a lack of clarity currently surrounding the development of Friendship is Epic, Jyc Row has decided to release some of the music he had composed for the game. Here we have this superb theme for Sombra that aims to put the player in the mindset of an intense final fight, which is does through the use of epic strings and percussion, with some lovely composition too.

Assertive Fluttershy – Boooring! (StrachAttack Remix) | Dubstep / Trap

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 29 April 2018.

After remixing Boo Hoo recently, Strach’s now taken a shot at remixing one of Assertive’s other early fandom hits, Boooring! Making good use of the vocals from the original in the builds, the drops are full of some awesome clean dubstep sound design, whilst the second drop gives it a bit of a trap feel too.

One Track Mind – Restart | Electro

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 26 April 2018.

One Track Mind’s had some cool tracks in the past, but this is definitely my favourite so far. Whilst it has some pretty cool dubstep-style electro breakdowns through the track, what really stands out to me are some of the vocals. They’ve got some pretty neat effects on them, and I really dig a few of the vocal melodies.
