SnowShovel – I Won’t Sleep Tonight (feat. PrinceWhateverer & Blackened Blue) | Metal

Oh man, looking back, I never realized how much I missed the 2017-2018s style of Brony rock/metal, where names like PrinceWhateverer, Blackened Blue, Sable Symphony, Bronikoni, and more dominated the scene, transitioning the genres to what they are today & inspiring the next generation of rock musicians. While those days are over and the blanket rock genre has naturally evolved because of it, I can’t help feeling a twinge of nostalgia for one of my favorite eras of the genre while listening to this song by SnowShovel. Featuring the legendary team up of PrinceWhateverer on vocals and Blackened Blue on the screams, this song has all the energy and agency that has me banging my head along, especially at the driving chorus. And I can’t give the midway transition into & through the guitar break enough praise either! It’s a whole different energy, and one that you have to experience for yourself to understand.

Jacqueling – Ария Луны/Luna’s Aria (ft. Rem) | Punk Rock

Punk rock, Russian lyrics, and Princess Luna, three things that I never expected to be merged together, but here we are with Jacqueling’s newest song. Let me say first and foremost that this song absolutely slays! Jacqueling has always been one of those artists that brings the energy and this one is no exception. Add on Ren’s angsty vocals & screams and you have a perfect song to excite all your senses.

RedSpark – Puppetmaster | Hybrid Orchestral

If there’s one thing that I absolutely adore, it’s when musicians mix electronic and orchestral elements for their song, like a Romeo & Juliet in music. And if there is anyone whom I’ve seen consistently produce bangers with this forbidden mix of elements, it’s RedSpark. Keeping a consistent, electronic-type bassline throughout the song, this song has all the energy that you’d expect for a typical electronic song, but it is the orchestral break that translate into a melody after the rise that keeps me listening. Keep doing what you do RedSpark!

Daniel Ingram – Hearts As Strong As Horses (Chang31ing Remix) | Drum & Bass

“Hearts Strong as Horses” has always been one of those staple songs from FiM that was deliberately crafted differently by Daniel Ingram; it was the first song of Season Four and the first song to break such a long hiatus, so it had a lot of hype riding on it. I’m glad that over ten years later, it is still being remixed, and by one of the strongest remixers currently active in the fandom. Going into this remix, I thought it would be a subtle remix with elements of DnB and some slightly increased energy with the faster tempo as hinted at in the first moments of the song, but that was quickly squashed at the first drop. Such intensity and distortion that screams that this different from the other remixes of the song while not compromising what made this song special to begin with. Oh, and the added “oof’s” that were ripped straight from Super Mario 64 was a nice touch that brought a smile to my face.

SpinScissor – Love Is in the Air | Electro Pop

If there is any musician that can create a catchy instrumental for their music, it’s SpinScissor, and this song is one of those earworm melodies. This track opens with Spin using extremely heavy autotune, which I don’t remember him ever doing to that high of a degree. In fact, most of the singing styles that Spin used feels unique compared to what Spin usually does; I honestly cannot remember a time where he added grittiness to his singing as well. This just adds not only to the edginess of the track and it’s theme, but is a testament to Spin’s already incredible singing talents.

Blurain – NEIGH XD (ft. Thrack) | Post-Hardcore

“NEIGH XD” is a crazy headbanger full of scenecore vibes and enough energy to excite the most timid of music fans, which is pretty fitting for a Discord track. Selfishly, I’m glad that Blurain & Thrack finally teamed up to make a song together. Both of them are rock-genre vocal powerhouses in the modern Brony Music Era whose voices always possess that unique flavor for any song, no matter what genre it is. They blend together to give this music dish a world of new flavors. And in addition, as per usual with a Blurain track, it’s his guitar playing that is shining through the loudest which deserves a lot of attention!

Nyanakaru – Stray Strand | Old-School Dubstep

It’s been forever since I’ve seen a classic-style dubstep track with no bass drops or other aspects that scream “popular dubstep.” Nyanakaru gives that feeling of dubstep with “Stray Strand” without all that high-energy that you can find in other dubstep songs. The vibe has that sort of creepy aura to it adding to that slow burn lead-up from the start. You will have anticipation for that eventual drop that will never happen, but still a satisfying conclusion at the end. If you want a dubstep-esque track that you can listen to without raising your heartbeat, this is the track for sure!

Elias Frost – At Your Service | Cinematic Orchestral

Being the third installment of his Nightwatch Series, “At Your Service” is another epic installment of cinematic proportions. Featuring his iconic heavy-hitting drums that is present in this series of tracks, Elias ups the ante with the bright brass nodes and low, epic choir vocalization. You don’t want to miss this track, or your ears will be missing out on one heck of an adventure.

StableTwoStallion – Pinkamena | Industrial Gothic Metal

Time to brush up on your German, because we have another terrifically dark piece by StableTwoStallion! Posted on Halloween, it is the perfect mix of heavy electric guitar, traditional Halloween organ, and a deeper gothic-style vocal. The way Stable articulates the words has the perfect edge to make this song a truly creepy vibe, perfect for that darker Halloween theming.

DJ NeighGative_ – Pinkie’s (Last) Rave | UK Hard House

“Pinkie’s (Last) Rave” (or DJ NeighGative_’s Giggles at the Ghosties Hard House Remix)—is another entry in his Hard House lineup. Like DJ NeighGative_’s other remixes, this one is a hard-hitting, bouncy track. That near middle section is what I thought was the most brilliant, creating some distance in the listening, before the drums transition into a quirky, instrumental break from the lyrics. Definitely an interesting and enjoyable take on one of the most classic show songs.
