FruityFusion – Unknown Electro Ponies EP | Electronic

FruityFusion has just released en EP of mixed electronic tracks. If you’re a fan of their music, you should check this out – full writeup after the break…

The album starts off with a couple of minimal house tracks, the first being Alhasea. Deep basses and a simplistic lead make up the majority of this track, with a touch of percussion to add another element to it.

The second song, Drug Pusher, starts off with a straight kick and brings in a distorted pad and an offbeat bass. More stranger sounds then begin to fill in this song, with distortion and other effects adding slightly weird elements to them.

Lighter is a drum and bass song with IDM influences. While the first half of the song is mostly straightforward, broken beats and trippy drum sequencing  adorn the rest of it, making glitchy breakdowns and rhythms.

Far Up in the Sky, the final track on the album, feels like it has some sort of synthwave or vaporwave influence to it. And like a sort of broken tape machine, it changes tempo, gradually slowing down every now and then.

Overall the EP is a bit of a mixed experience for me. Despite not being a huge fan of minimal house, I enjoyed the first two songs for their somewhat experimental and different elements. However, I feel the use of somewhat simple sounds hinders the latter two, which also seem to have mixing issues. FruityFusion still has a long way to go, but they’re making good progress!

This EP is available to purchase from Bandcamp for €4.99, and Drug Pusher is already up on Fruity’s YouTube Channel.
