[P@D] Progressive Element – Stars and Sky / Flak – Walls (New Patrol Remix) | House

A couple of pretty chill pieces to end the day. First up is a deep house track from Progressive Element; it may be a tad repetitive but if you’re looking to revisit the 90s it’s definitely one to go for!

What’s this? A new challenger has appeared! NewPatrol has been active on SoundCloud for a while now, but here makes his debut on YouTube, in the brony music scene, and on a Ponies At Dawn album. This remix of Flak’s Walls has both the characteristics of modern-day future house and that sort of summery house sound that arose around 2010 (think Edward Maya, Inna, and that sort of stuff). In other words, a solid track!

[P@D] Jyc Row & Francis Vace – Celestial Beserkers (ft. IbeConCept) | Celtic Metal Big Room

No, seriously.

This one certainly took me by surprise when I heard it. Not only does Jyc take a shot at more of an electronic side of production than usual, but it’s combined with his own celtic orchestral style, Francis’s input on the metal sections and IbeConCept is brought in to rap in the verses.  There is literally an influence from every category we put things into here (Electronic, Rock, and Misc), and I’ve never heard anything quite like this. Kudos to the three of you for this!

[P@D] DJT – Peppermint (feat. Puffy) | Future Bass

I’m kinda surprised that there’s only one future bass song on Voyager, but the quality of this more than makes up for the quantity. DJT’s usual bright and crisp sound is as prominent as ever and the combined spliced vocals of both Pinkie Pie and Puffy throughout the song are the icing on the cake with this hugely uplifting piece. The spoken word section from Puffy in the middle really brings home that uplifting vibe too.

[P@D] Hyprah – Isolation / Mantlegen & Einarx – Dreadnaught | Dubstep

Fresh face, fresh music. With their first ever release under this alias, Hyprah is a welcome new addition to the Ponies At Dawn collective with what’s promising to be a set of great production skills. Check out their song Isolation from the new album.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself…and spiders” – probably not FDR.

Two of the prominent members of Magnus Records, the South Korean internet-based label, Mantlegen and Einarx have both appeared on previous Ponies At Dawn albums and now team up to combine forces to make a track with some absolutely mental sound design. Not one for the faint-hearted.

[P@D] Aurelleah – Warm Winds (ft. Wubcake) | Orchestral Pop

Shipping time! A slight change of direction from Aurelleah’s usual music, and a welcome return to hearing some of his vocals. But of course, a love song is even better as a duet, so Wubcake takes the part of Marble Pie as her and Big Mac reminisce over meeting. How cute.

[P@D] Replacer – Handbag | Blues / Alternative

As per usual with Replacer’s songs, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this when I saw it on the Voyager tracklist. Replacer did, however, bring something completely different to the table add per usual with this darkish alternative song that almost has a marching feel with the driving kick drum, as the rest of the instruments fall in place one by one accentuating the rhythm.

[P@D] Protocat & Hay Tea – Autumn Leaves / Hydra – Popsicle VIP | Drum & Bass

As we did last time, we’re pairing up similar songs from the new Ponies at Dawn album to give you as many of them as possible! First up is a collaboration that I’ve been anticipating since I first heard about it. Fandom liquid dnb regular Hay Tea teamed up with Protocat, who we first heard about from their remix of I’ll Fly. And the result is just as good as you’d expect from 2 people people make such beautiful chilled music!

The original version of Popsicle was a tropical house track that featured on Starlit Flames, a previous Ponies At Dawn album. Now it’s been revitalised into liquid dnb that’s just add summery and relaxing as the original!

[P@D] lia;quo – Awakening | Mashup / Complextro

The opening track for Voyager really is something truly special. It combines and samples, in some way or another, every single song from the previous Ponies At Dawn album, Awakening (hence the title). Lia explains the process in the video description, but before you read that, just take a listen to this masterpiece, an ode to P@D!
