What’s this? A new challenger appears? Whether or FWLR is gonna stick around the brony music scene at all, as hackd said on the above Cider Party video, “any artist who’s got the guts and humor to throw in some pony vocals onto a track is going to be pretty rad“. And besides, this song is just as good as many of the other top-notch tracks we see round these parts, so I happily welcome Good Intentions with open arms. Great job FWLR, hope to see you around in the future!
Month: January 2017
Wind Wolf – The Canyon | Orchestral
NB: This is an edited version of what was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 1 January 2017.
Now for a new track from Wind Wolf which has a strong western influence to it, brought out magnificently by the instrumental and tonal choices. This is another piece from the soundtrack to Adventure of The Lunarbolts. Make sure to check it out for your orchestral fix!
Pony Music – Times | Drum & Bass
NB: This is an edited version of what was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 2 January 2017.
This dnb crew have been on fire recently, and the tunes just don’t stop coming! Liquid drum & bass is a lot more chilled out, and so it makes sense to pair it with some Fluttershy vocals, which Pony Music has done to great effect.
Ponysphere & Reverbrony – Echoes | Metal
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 3 January 2016.
Two of the best in the metal scene, Reverbrony and Ponysphere have teamed up to produce a heavy and powerful tune about AJ called Echoes. They’ve each uploaded a different master version on their respective channels for this one. The first, Reverbrony’s version, is an instrumental that puts a lot more oomph into the instrumental, whilst Ponysphere’s includes some pretty awesome hardcore vocals from him.
Totalspark & Kawaii Dash – Ramune | Nu Disco / House
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 1 January 2017.
Totalspark and Kawaii Dash combine here to bring a weeb-y, whomp-y combination of neat sounds that help form a pretty cool future bass track. As is often the case with Totalspark tracks the chords are pretty interesting, whilst the Kawaii Dash influence is obvious in the way they whomp in with flair. Definitely worth checking out if you want some light and fluffy future!

A Symphony of Two – A Surprising Duo | Orchestral
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 1 January 2017.
A Symphony of Two continue their prolific release schedule with a new track about the surprising duo of Spike and Thorax. Equal parts inquisitive and determined, the instrumental relies heavily on strongly emotive strings, but has some other familiar elements too.
Hay Tea – Defect | Drum & Bass
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 31 December 2016.
Good sampling, great drums, and some neat bass design from his friend Age Of Vinyl all combine to deliver a somewhat haunting yet energetic drum & bass tune from Hay Tea. He’s been on fire recently and that doesn’t stop here with some really neat music about sad Derpy.
WoodLore – The Learner’s Paradox | Acoustic
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 31 December 2016.
If you like WoodLore’s style, you’ll love this. Strongly focused on his trademark vocals, this piece shows them off in a great way. There’s some quality guitar-work as well as some uplifiting strings later in the track as it builds up towards the end. Make sure to check it out below for an awesome Starlight Glimmer-inspired tune!
[HMC] Trixent – Cookie Induced Zombification | Deathstep
The original info for the 2nd HMC album said that the theme was going to be ‘chill winter themed’…So while perhaps this doesn’t quite fit that description, it’s certainly shows that Trixent isn’t afraid to let loose and go full throttle on his production. Agressive basses ahoy, take a listen for some hard-hitting music!
