Tw3Lv3 – Aura | Electronic

Tw3Lv3 has been prolific with her releases over the last few years, with plenty of wonderful album experiences and collaborations to her name, with plenty more sure to come. The culmination of some of that work is on show here in her latest offering, Aura. Featuring 14 different tracks, two of which were initially released as part of P@D’s last compilation album, there’s a lovely mixture of solo and collaborative work, and some cool album art from BL1NKY as well. With plenty to vibe to from d&b rollers to more future bass-oriented dance tunes, there’s also the helping of chill you’d expect from Tw3Lv3 too.

(Some song recaps after the break)

Tw3Lve – Results (feat. Doodled) – A good example of the laidback vibes Tw3Lv3 is capable of showcasing, there’s a lovely beat established right away with some chill guitar, groovy percussion and nice sax hits. Doodled’s vocals are always smooth and clever, and he complements the instrumental wonderfully throughout this energetic yet laidback tune.

Tw3Lv3 & BL1NKY – Heading For Gold (feat. StealingShad3z) – Shad3z’ vocals always work great on electronic tunes, and that fits here as he gives some soulful energy to a calm and atmospheric intro produced by Tw3Lv3 and BL1NKY, before the track launches into some smooth future bass chords via a cute Fluttershy sample. Vocals layered over the future chords later on adds another dimension to the track, before it caps itself off with some sultry ooohs and piano chimes.

Tw3Lv3 – Deep Sea Diver – This track in particular highlights the atmospheric qualities of the album, providing an instrumental experience mostly devoid of percussion, but still able to drive interest through terrific use of soft, gentle pad design and some beautiful use of gentle waves splashing. It definitely immerses you in a water-y feel throughout the track.
