[Equinity] LaunchSix – Marshmallow |Dubstep / Riddim

From Equinity 01: Stellar, LaunchSix released Marshmallow. This one is a lot of fun for the bass heads out there with powerful percussion and screaming basslines and leads. This piece pulls out all the stops and keeps the energy pumping throughout!

[P@D] Tripon – Spells of Ruin (feat. J. Free) | Roller Drum & Bass

Tripon never fails to impress when they release a new track and as part of Ponies At Dawn’s latest album Eternalthis one is bound to be a treat! Right from the start the hollow minimalist percussion and deep subs catch your attention. The rolling bassline and atmospheric soundscapes are expertly crafted and J. Free‘s inclusion adds an exciting twist to the track with half time flow and a dirty vibe. If you haven’t checked out the rest of the album by now, I highly encourage you to do so, as there are plenty of gems within and this one is a well polished one!

VocalScorePony – The Magic of Friendship Grows (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Acoustic

Now that thee series finale has come and passed. We finally get to see some wonderful takes on our very last song. VocalScorePony has poured their soul into their cover of this song and the emotion is spot on and the way the choruses come forth and recede is fantastic. The climax of the song with its chorale of voices hits home so well and if it hasn’t been made clear already. The ‘end’ isn’t the end of the story; Its the beginning of the new chapter!

[P@D] Redhose vs Pegasas – Under The Shadow | Hybrid Trap / Drumstep

This one is unique. Pegasas was featured on Ponies At Dawn: Eternal for this track and I have to say its one of my favourites from the album. Taking a heavy influence from Hip hop and Trap production this track has a strong backing groove with a very nice flow in its lyrics. The highlight of course is when you come to the drops. They hit hard and heavy and bring with them a very syncopated style of percussive sound and words can only go so far. This one really is easier to hear for yourself and I love the creativity used in this one!

Jessica Vaughn, Jess Furman & John Jennings Boyd – Let It Rain (Ice Angel Remix) | Future House

Some good old future house is always nice to see, and Ice Angel did a great job here with a bright, metallic melody and a very bouncy bass line. This remix is short and sweet, but that’s all it needs as it makes solid use of its time bringing out a much different flavour.

Spikey Wikey – H.O.R.S.E. (The Word Is) [Rokii Remix] | Tech House

A more minimal and techno take on Spikey Wikey‘s bizarre song, H.O.R.S.E; Rokii has taken this song off the deep end. Literally. A very pronounced progression with a powerful deep rolling bassline with little sprinklings of various elements and ominous design, this remix gives off a tense energy and kept me interested till the very end. But most importantly,
Have you heard, the word?

Eurobeat Brony – Luna (Rod Steven Acoustic Remix) | Acoustic Ballad

An oldie but a goodie, Rod Steven has remixed Luna; A staple in the fandom and this version of the song gives a more laid back and infectious mood to the piece. Mellow rolling acoustic harmonies following a bright piano and the all too familiar vocals, This ballad-esque re-imagining is great to unwind to and harken back to yesteryear.

BinExis – New Old Beginning | Power Metal

Now this is something I don’t see too often. A power metal cover of two Italian openings from different generations of My Little Pony. This is a fun one with a strong leading flute and pretty nice riffs that also lean on some orchestral and pop-like elements. I never thought this is something I would need but I’m glad this had crossed my path now. Excellent work BinExis!

FilledSilhoutte – S.A.S.L | French House

Crisp chords, addictive vocal chops, and a catchy bassline. This short funky and fun song exudes an excellent 80s vibe and encapsulates what French House can bring to the table. Always love seeing songs like this come forward and  FilledSillhoutee did an excellent job with this song!

Tw3Lv3 – You can’t let one bad apple make you think you failed. | Lo-fi

A genre I don’t listen to enough, Tw3Lv3 has released a very laid back and soothing LoFi song, with the crackle and grit one should expect from the genre which blends quite well with the lounge-like melody and its deep and punchy bassline. Even the visuals harken back to the old age and helps immerse the listener even more. This is one where I can kick back, close my eyes and think back on life. An excellent job Tw3Lv3!
