Hi friends, I’ve just finished putting together my top ten songs of 2015. This is a list of my personal favourite songs from last year, and as such will probably be quite different from any of the publicly voted top x lists. I’ve included songs that, for whatever reason, resonated with me and/or have left a lasting impression over the year.
So venture past the break to see, in no particular order, my top ten of 2015.
You never quite know what you’re going to get when you reach into the musical grab bag of genres that is Evdog; he’s brought us acoustic, rock, reggae, swing and now this cool synthy dance song.
With great vocals and lyrics chock full of meaning, this is a lovely CMC number.
Cosmic Kingdoms are relative new name in the pony music scene and this, only their second song, is an absolute gem of a track. It’s been a while since I’ve heard much like this in the fandom and this is a very welcome addition.
Also, this is my favourite kind of love song:
Unrequited horse love.
I’ve Got To Find A Way was possibly one of the most emotional songs of season three and I am hard pressed to think of someone I would rather hear covering it. Strigidae’s raw, powerful, and expressive vocals are a perfect fit.
It’s also rather interesting to revisit this song from a Luna perspective; it’s not something I would have picked up on myself, but I can definitely see it.
