Synthis – For You | Piano

Synthis’ reverb-laden ode to his fiancée Sora is a less intricate song than we’re used to from Sam, but no less beautiful and emotional. A lovely piano accompaniment is really all you need for a love song sometimes, especially when your voice and knack for catchy melodies is as strong as Synthis’ is!

Vylet Pony – Prom Night Equestria, 1988 (feat. Namii) | Synthpop

The first single off of Vylet’s upcoming album Glitter, which you can pre-order here, should please any fan of 80s aesthetics. Featuring some lovely young Cheerilee and Mayor Mare art by Alumx, this song is evidently a highly cathartic song for Vylet, judging by the description, and sounds like something right out of Dirty DancingThis tune features some lovely harmonies from both Namii and Vylet and the passion in both their voices is palpable. The most impressive thing about this track, in my eyes, is the attention to detail to the 80s power ballad sound. It is beyond authentic and features some heartwarming lyrics and definitely tugs at the heartstrings. If you pine for the times of Flashdance and Journeythis one’s for you.

Dynamite Grizzly – Yak Funk (Spiritual Mix) | Drum & Bass

Jack of all electronic trades Dynamite Grizzly comes through with a cooled drum & bass tune and fans will be happy to know Grizzly’s knack for incredibly funky basses is appropriately on display here. The synth layering, chant vocals, and breaks all contribute to the freezing atmosphere one would expect from Yakyakistan.

Synthis – On the Edge | Chill Trap

Synthis blesses us with another lovely tune, featuring some lovely and evocative art by UrbanQhoul. Fans of most of his other work (especially Crash to Pieces) will certainly find something to like here, with Synthis’ signature silky-smooth voice, gorgeous melodies and synths, squeaky-clean mixing, and surprising propensity for trap percussion all make an appearance here. This’ll definitely be in my personal rotation for some months!

Reverbrony – Omega (feat. Osoch) | Metal / Djent

Here’s one for the metalhead readers! This new Daybreaker-themed piece by two of the greatest metal musicians currently doing it is heavy on the riffs, with some killer and equally-impressive guitar solos by Osoch. The percussion sounds as good as any Reverbrony track and the Meshuggah influence, especially during the breakdowns, is palpable. This ain’t one to miss for any djent fans!

Tridashie – Pony Girl (feat. IMShadow007 & Brittney Ackerman) (Brohoof Studios Remix) | Hardstyle

First The Midnight Musician, then 174UDSI, then TPressleyJ, and now Hoofy has jumped on Pony Girl, coming through with a pumping hardstyle remix! In the last two years of my observing the fandom’s scene, Brohoof Studios has had some of the biggest musical improvement by far! The kick is very well-crafted, the atmosphere during the verses feature some awesome synth work, and the song provides the euphoria of flying through the skies of Equestria. Great work on this one!

Rarity Advocate – Dress Horse | Piano

Rarity Advocate continues to prove he is among the best composers, classical or otherwise, in the fandom with this lovely Chopin-inspired piece about the titular Dress Horse herself. The piece evolves in a very ear-grabbing way. Some moments are more dirge-like, while some are pensive and loving. This ode to Rarity is one of my personal favorite solo piano pieces this fandom’s ever produced.

The Beatle Bronies – Magical Mystery Cure | Classic Rock

After a three-year hiatus, The Beatle Bronies are finally back, this time with new drummer Wootmaster! This time, they bring a great new parody (one that lends itself way too easily to the original) named the controversial but beloved season 3 finale of the same name. The authenticity to the Beatles’ sound is on-point here and it should be enough to please any longtime Beatle Bronies fan!

Radiarc – Loose | Post-Rock

Quite a cathartic song this one is! Taking musical inspiration from Chris Christodoulou and his Risk of Rain soundtrack, this is some of the most unique post-rock I’ve ever heard. From saxophone to turntable scratches, this track lifts elements from all over the musical spectrum. The drums are punchy and attention-grabbing without being “epic,” and the breaks throughout (featuring some heavenly vocal samples and strings) are just lovely. Clearly, this was a very important track for Radiarc to release, judging by the description and the song itself, so go show him some love!

Zephysonas – Pinkie PiErate | Orchestral

Something a bit different than the usual orchestral that comes out of the fandom, Zephysonas perfectly encapsulates the feeling of being a pirate, as the strings lend themselves quite well to a pirate’s drinking song! Likely taking inspiration from the Pony Point of View (P.P.O.V.) episode, this is a treat in 3/4 time for anyone into the pirate aesthetic. “Care for a diamond?!”
