Direct Current’s music is always wonderful to listen to. In Proprioception, he takes a crack at ambient, and he does a superb job. The multitudinous layers of sound are serene and peaceful, together forming a soundscape at once as vast as the ocean, and as small and precious as a snowglobe.

UndreamedPanic – Rainbow Blast | Drumstep
I’ve long been fond of drumstep. My first exposure to it was a 175bpm edit of Artattack’s Loyalty remix, and since then I’ve been looking for more good pony drumstep. UndreamedPanic’s Rainbow Blast is a stellar example of the genre, with some classic Rainbow Dash samples. Themed as videogame battle music, it’s easy to imagine playing as Dash and fighting off a bunch of changelings or Ahuizotl cultists!
UndreamedPanic & Totalspark – Dysania | Chillstep
Panic and Totalspark team up for this lovely chillstep piece. Wubbly, relaxing, atmospheric, and melodic, it’s a cold and potent dose of bliss. The EP it’s from (Times Like This) is pay-what-you-want, so be sure to check that out too!
MrMehster – SP1RIT ANIMAL | Hard Psytrance
Psytrance is my favorite subgenre of trance, my favorite genre. It’s woefully rare in the pony fandom, so seeing some is a huge thrill. SP1RIT ANIMAL is a wondrously complex composition, with chanting vocals, haunting synths, and alpine ambience. I love it so much!
Sia – Rainbow (Lavender Remix) | Drum & Bass
Lavender’s classic sound design and energetic beats are applied to Sia’s amazing song from the MLP Movie! I’ve enjoyed many of her previous songs, and it was a genuine pleasure to see her do another fully pony one again. I listened to Rainbow on repeat for several days straight, and I’ll probably do the same with this remix!
Tridashie feat. IMShadow007 & Brittney Ackerman – Pony Girl (174UDSI Remix) | House
174UDSI gives Tridashie’s amazing Pony Girl a house-y trance-y twist in this remix! The bassline is absolutely stunning, as are the crisp, precise claps. Brittney Ackerman’s and IMShadow007’s vocals are delightfully tweaked and filtered, and the whole song is packed with energy. If you liked the original, be sure and listen to this wonderful remix!
ertrii – Wake | Chillout
Ertrii’s produced another lovely bit of smooth, serene chillout. This one samples heavily from Hush Now Quiet Now, which fits very well with its mood. Wake is the sort of song to listen to when relaxing or driving, the sort that fills you with wonderful bliss.
Top Ten Pony Songs of December 2017!
My first ever top ten writeup! This one features the return of µThunder, quite a few PrinceWhateverer songs, some inspired by or remixed from the MLP movie, and my favorite: a VIP of Timeless by John Kenza (formerly Kadenza)! There’s a pretty good variety of genres here, so you should be able to find something to your liking!

Totalspark teams up with the rapper Acarcion for this new song. It’s got the classic Totalspark chill with a hip-hop beat, an interesting combination. The lyrics are about Twilight, her journey through the years, and all she still has left to do.
Damien Nagy – Thème de Luna (Luna’s Theme) | Orchestral
In this wonderful orchestral symphony, Damien Nagy perfectly evokes Luna’s beautiful night. Piano, string, and soft choir are all awash in resplendent glory. Fit to be a game’s soundtrack, or even background music for the show itself, this is a truly wonderful song.
