Koron Korak – Confrontations | Darksynth
Koron Korak is always good for an off-meta style track and Confrontations is certainly unique! The track starts with off with a strong, ominous organ and transitions into a distorted, almost nightmarish track. The prevailing synth sets the dark tone while the drum beat keeps the intense emotion. Some high voices and powerful bass bring the track together in an awesome and powerful way!
MelodyBrony – This Kingdom | Djent
MelodyBrony has been on quite the roll recently with their intense, metal tracks! This Kingdom is based off the season 9 premier and Twilight’s inner fear of running the entire kingdom of Equestria. The melody intersperses pauses that add a unique tension to the track and cause unease, as if you are experiencing the anxiety yourself. The guitar parts have a nice technical quality that show off Melody’s continued growth. If you like the lower, grungier rock tones, and especially if you DJENT, then make sure to have a listen!
[P@D] 4EverfreeBrony – Super Fan | Pop Rock
It’s Ponies at Dawn time once again and that of course means 4EverfreeBrony has another fantastic release! This exclusive pre-release comes with an awesome PMV put together by JackDC93. Super Fan is sung from the viewpoint of Scootaloo using pleasant melodies and a solid rock performance. 4EverfreeBrony addresses her disabilities and hardships with growing up while highlighting her own self-worth as Rainbow Dash’s super fan. The track is wholesome and extremely well produced as you would expect from the fandom veteran, and the PMV furthers the hype for the big release this Friday!
Night Blaze – Happy Ending | Orchestral
Night Blaze really shows off an array of compositional prowess with this track. Happy Ending is exactly what the title implies – a beautiful, uplifting composition evoking warm nostalgia and sentimentality. The score moves seamlessly through different parts from a piano lead-in to light string movements to more intense, grand segments with electric guitar and quickly strummed strings. It’s a little hard not to tear up listening to this wonderfully emotional track!
Chiptune Brony – Nova Astralis ~ Cosmos | Chiptune/Video Game
It is really cool to see music inspired from the IWD comic book series, especially new comics! Chiptune Brony has an awesome and creative style that uses old synth instrumentation to create and epic, 90s era boss theme for Cosmos, a villain that uses mind-control on the ponies and has a bizarre, romantic relationship with Discord. The high, airy sounds set a great ambience of mysterious unrest while the hard hitting-snare and thumping, upbeat bass set a sense of urgency and action. Even without reading the comics, Nova Astralis sets the stage to tell you everything you need to know about how disastrous this villain is!
Toby Macarony – Blaze | Oldschool Trance
Toby Macarony is always up to something crazy and this track off of their Wonderbolts themed album keeps it interesting! The upbeat, happy style of Blaze serves as an anthem of sorts for the speed flyer in a way that’s just as mysterious as the Wonderbolt herself. The track utilizes a myriad of instruments and styles from arena organ syncopations, synth riffs, a solid dance beat, and so much more! The only real way to understand the insanity of Blaze is to give it a listen!
Andy Feelin & The Stone Pit – Granny Take Me Home | Russian Chanson
If you thought you had heard everything in this musical community, think again! Andy Feelin (from Przewalskis Ponies) and The Stone Pit bring us this very creative Russian jazz/ballad fusion telling the story of Big Mac getting put on the wrong side of the law after defending the farm from thieves. The instrumentation follows a very well-composed jazz pattern with syncopated brass and saxophones playing around a sweet, smooth percussion beat. Following a Russian theme of songs about criminals, this community once again shows its creative brilliance!
Djohn Mema & SlightlyAmiss – River | Heavy Metal
It’s great to see Djohn Mema releasing more and more originals, and what a power combination teaming up with SlightlyAmiss! River is an intense track that portrays Luna’s remorse from the perspective of the voices in her head that make her feel as if she is drowning in a river. The metaphor is brilliant, the instrumentation hits the emotions very well, and the combination of vocals are spot on! It’s refreshing to see this kind of well-thought out, well-produced heavy metal from a team of such talented musicians!
ShobieShy & Drixale – Lost My Friend | Hip-Hop
ShobieShy and Drixale make an incredible duo in this unique and catchy Starlight track! Utilizing dissonant piano chords and a moving hi-hat beat, ShobieShy lays on the heavy emotions weighing on young Starlight while Drixale comes in with the addictive chorus. Both singers add a dynamic one-two punch and serve to make Lost My Friend hit home in all the right places!
