[P@D] Thrasher – Orbit | Metalcore

Freaking YES! I love this kind of stuff. Metalcore with an electronic influence seems to be Thrasher’s speciality and they’ve come back to participate in this Ponies At Dawn album too. Seems it’s also part of an upcoming EP, something I’m very much looking forward to. In the meantime, DJENT!

[P@D] Metapony – Everfree / EnsionD – Horse Feelings (ft. Francis Vace) | Progressive House

It may seem like it’s ambient, but it’s not quite! Although, yes, it does take a very long time to get into the beat, that time is well spent creating a wonderful atmosphere. Then when the drums do finally kick in, we get Metapony’s signature pluck sounds and the super clean mixing that I adore in all of their songs.

And now for something a little bit different – “fresh new audio delivered straight to your ear canal”. I think the lyrics are self-explanatory so I’ll just say that, as with Meta’s track, this is full of very nice clean, melodic sounds with excellent mixing.

The Midnight Musician – Button Song (7 AM) | Pop Rock

Hello, something else unexpected! Until now, The Midnight Musician has only released electronic music, but it seems he wanted to take a try at some rock music; and so, this rather cute pop rock track came to be. all the parts (bar the drums) are performed by TMM himself, and are sung from Button Mash’s point of view. Nice work TMM, always nice to see musicians branching out and trying something completely new!

[P@D] Crystal Slave – Falter | Electro-Pop

NB: The original video was deleted, the above is an archive re-upload.

One of the more unique tracks from Voyager, this song takes inspiration from the storyline of Rainbow Dash joining the Wonderbolts, and Crystal Slave’s voice really brings the emotion in his lyrics to life. It’s also somewhat rare to see a 3/4 time song, so that’s cool too.

[P@D] ThatMusicBrony – Among The Stars / PegasYs – Wasteland | Glitch Hop

Two different flavours of glitch-hop to start today! First up something of the more traditional glitch-hop variety from TMB, with vocals that somewhat resemble those of Glaze, a style he seems to have adopted and made his own in recent times.

And secondly, some neuro-hop with some fantastic chord patterns from PegasYs. Sadly this may be PegasYs’ last release under said alias, and he will continue releasing music under the name Esper. Thanks for all the music Pega, and we wish you the best with your future musical endeavours!

[P@D] Progressive Element – Stars and Sky / Flak – Walls (New Patrol Remix) | House

A couple of pretty chill pieces to end the day. First up is a deep house track from Progressive Element; it may be a tad repetitive but if you’re looking to revisit the 90s it’s definitely one to go for!

What’s this? A new challenger has appeared! NewPatrol has been active on SoundCloud for a while now, but here makes his debut on YouTube, in the brony music scene, and on a Ponies At Dawn album. This remix of Flak’s Walls has both the characteristics of modern-day future house and that sort of summery house sound that arose around 2010 (think Edward Maya, Inna, and that sort of stuff). In other words, a solid track!

[P@D] Jyc Row & Francis Vace – Celestial Beserkers (ft. IbeConCept) | Celtic Metal Big Room

No, seriously.

This one certainly took me by surprise when I heard it. Not only does Jyc take a shot at more of an electronic side of production than usual, but it’s combined with his own celtic orchestral style, Francis’s input on the metal sections and IbeConCept is brought in to rap in the verses.  There is literally an influence from every category we put things into here (Electronic, Rock, and Misc), and I’ve never heard anything quite like this. Kudos to the three of you for this!

[P@D] DJT – Peppermint (feat. Puffy) | Future Bass

I’m kinda surprised that there’s only one future bass song on Voyager, but the quality of this more than makes up for the quantity. DJT’s usual bright and crisp sound is as prominent as ever and the combined spliced vocals of both Pinkie Pie and Puffy throughout the song are the icing on the cake with this hugely uplifting piece. The spoken word section from Puffy in the middle really brings home that uplifting vibe too.
