Jensen has gifted us with his first remix of an official MLP song, “Shine like Rainbows” by Daniel Ingram. He takes a progressive house spin on the tune, starting out with a piano hammering the chords and gorgeous ethereal pads before jumping into the main groove with soaring synth leads. The middle continues to develop texture with acoustic guitar blending in nicely with all the synths. Overall, it’s a very introspective and thoughtful track, matching the original’s context as an end-credits song to Rainbow Rocks. Fantastic work!
ACIDASH – QUEEN MEANIE | Breakcore
ACIDASH’s latest track, “QUEEN MEANIE,” delivers an unrelenting sonic assault from the moment it begins. The track opens with a haunting wind-up before unleashing a fierce combination of distorted bass, warped vocal chops, and relentless old-school drum breaks. The chaotic energy mirrors the track’s namesake, Opaline, spiraling into madness with each pulsating beat. With its intense, face-melting melody and dark, twisted atmosphere, this breakcore masterpiece is a must-listen for fans of the genre seeking a truly wild ride.
Jacqueling – Ария Луны/Luna’s Aria (ft. Rem) | Punk Rock
Punk rock, Russian lyrics, and Princess Luna, three things that I never expected to be merged together, but here we are with Jacqueling’s newest song. Let me say first and foremost that this song absolutely slays! Jacqueling has always been one of those artists that brings the energy and this one is no exception. Add on Ren’s angsty vocals & screams and you have a perfect song to excite all your senses.
Vylet Pony – Paintbucket (ft. Namii) | Trap Pop
Oh yes yes YES! Another banger from Vylet Pony featuring the incredible vocals of Namii, bringing forth this epic trap pop track! I adore the multiple samples throughout it. Together with the out-of-this-world lyrical and vocal acrobat-cy performed here. “Paintbucket” is absolutely a track to vibe to. And I commend Vylet for coming forward about the heavy topic on the discoveries and whether or not you’re “on the spectrum” through this song. Well done! Biggups! I look forward to writing for y’all again!
Blackened Blue – Villain (Cover) | Metal
Ohoho~ Let’s indeed get villainous! This cover performed by Blackened Blue brings forth Opaline’s song in a more metal fashion, and it is marvelous! Truly, the pleasure-ability and joyfulness to be evil has never felt better. Next to the fact, that it feels good to see G5 getting some love. This cover is a great piece of work, and it’s HIGHLY recommended for those who share a passion for villainy and evilness. Great work, Blackened Blue. I look forward to writing for you again!
NeverLastStanding – “Go With Me (Farewell Version)” | Electronic
Premiering at Everfree Northwest 2023, this emotional track was the end of a special back-to-back set between NeverLastStanding and loophoof (who contributed the visuals to the video). Being that it was the last song of the last set of the convention, the credits include the names of various convention staff, as well as pictures with memories of loophoof and NLS hanging out with friends at various meetups outside of conventions they’ve attended. That, complete with fantastic vocals by NLS, makes for a heartfelt track that really speaks to the meaning of friendship.
Be sure to also check out their full set for an emotional roller coaster that you won’t soon forget!
EveryDayDashie – The My Little Pony Symphony (40th Anniversary Reorchestration) | Symphony
My Little pony, among many other wonderful things, is an adventure, and this particular orchestration by EveryDayDashie does a wonderful job of displaying that magic. Opening with the gentle sparkle of glockenspiel the Symphony then swells into a grand display of the beloved main theme the true introduction to the work. That beloved motif, as well as some newer ones, follow us though the rest of the song, though greatly changed through the context of the music around it. From the gentle notes of a lullaby mimicking a frolic though the meadows to heroic charges and the crashing as a storm at sea, truly this music is as a trip though Equestria, with both old friends and new, and a journey you won’t want to miss.
