Ponytronic – Values | Drum & Bass

A new wonderful release from Ponytronic closing the current song series about Luna, this Night track isn’t lacking of those tender and comforting vibes we children of the Night are appreciating. Mellow synths, reflective breaks, unusual beat pattern, and gorgeous piano are all contributing to create an emotional experience over the progression of the song. The symbolism of the coming of the Night with the cricket sounds at the beginning, and the coming of the Dawn at the end with the bird sounds, is also amazing and adds much depth to the track. As for the special ending of the song, it stays true to Ponytronic’s Values when it comes to composing, and makes for a wonderful finale.

Nevermourn – Clear Skies | Drum & Bass

Nevermourn is a pretty new musician, with this being only the second release on their channel, and it’s always cool to see new people coming through the ranks! The mixing here is pretty clean, as some lovely steady and smooth percussion and quiet rolling bass set the scene behind some cute plucks and lovely pads. There are also some very nice reverse fills which I’m always a fan of. Give it a listen if you want some smooth drum & bass vibes in your system!

Nevermourn – Illusions | Drum & Bass

Nevermourn kicks off his channel in a great and powerful way with a sparkling character theme for Trixie in Drum & Bass format. Reflecting the coolness in both Trixie’s mischievous side and her skills as an Illusionist, the track hits hard and relentlessly with sick melodies and beats, and lays down a very enjoyable dark mood.

Ponytronic – Times Like These | Drum & Bass

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 01 March 2017.

Ponytronic’s been around for a while, but I think this is probably one of the best pieces he’s come up with yet. Featuring some great fast-paced percussion and lovely pluck-y synths, there’s a terrific chill atmosphere built and maintained here. This piece is a part of his Missed Hearts LP, and focuses on the much loved TaviScratch pairing, most evidenced by some good use of vocals in the break during the middle of the track.
