5 seconds into this song I was already in love with it! The vibrant sounds mixed with the perfect chords surround you as only pros like RoomVR and Zephysonas can craft. Starlight Sanctuary is a gorgeous instrumental that sets a peaceful nighttime landscape around you. The strings harmonize together wonderfully, reaching a deep level of emotions as if that is how nature intended. As explained by RoomVR, “This track is about my love for the night. I wanted to portray the feelings that I experience while looking up at the stars; feelings of love and comfort, wonder and awe… and peace.” This track as well as many other amazing songs are available now on Ponies at Dawn: Skyward!

[P@D] Faulty & PegasYs – Hottie Trotties | House
Faulty and PegasYs make a powerhouse duo in this mesmerizing sound bath of a track. Hottie Trotties has a very pleasing vibe while the synth and expertly-crafted reverb take you to another world entirely. Pega’s talk-box chops and a the crazy synth-bass interlude spice up the wall of sound and establish the song as a memorable and exciting piece of the new Ponies at Dawn: Skyward!
[P@D] L-Train & TheMusicReborn – Once And Future Heroes | Metal/Jazz Fusion
If you haven’t downloaded Ponies at Dawn: Skyward yet, you really should. The album is filled with great quality music from such diverse producers, and Once And Future Heroes may be the best example of just that! L-Train teams up with TheMusicReborn to bring a powerhouse combination of epic metal with a big-toned trumpet to create a heroic anthem for our main protagonists. The pacing is incredible as the track contains so much energy, and never gets sloppy with the flow. The controlled tempo builds beautifully as the trumpet lets loose a powerful leading tone, complimenting the rest of the mix in a very moving, unique piece!
[P@D] Frozen Night – Unsung | Epic Orchestral
Frozen Night’s abilities as a composer are practically second to none at this point in the fandom when it comes to big, powerful orchestral works. The fact that this one tells such a deep and complex story is especially impressive, working in unison with Lyra’s adventure throughout the Background Pony fanfiction. Each section is equally spellbinding in its own way, and is a journey that simply must be experienced. I dare say that being familiar with the underlying inspirational material would make it all the more powerful!
[P@D] bank pain – Reflections (feat. PegasYs) | Melodic Dubstep
The production abilities of bank pain just keep getting better! Here he’s taken a bit of a detour from the dark deep neuro-style druym & bass tunes he’s often focused on to provide a powerful melodic dubstep track that nonetheless still carries plenty of his trademark style. Combined with some of PegasYs’ best vocals yet, it’s clear that a lot of work went into this tune. I especially adore the vocoded vocal section and the way it builds into the final drop so well, not to mention the clarity of the mix as a whole.
[P@D] Skunked – Sky High | Dubstep
Skunked has been improving a lot lately, and this is definitely my favourite thing I’ve heard from him so far. Featuring a relentlessly upbeat and positive vibe throughout its chiptune-flavoured dubstep vibes, there’s some terrific energy supplied by the aggressive sound design, clever use of vocal samples and lovely FX inputs too. The way it just dives into the drops is especially fun to experience, even on repeated listens.
[P@D] GrazySmash – Thunderbolt | Psytrance
This track just hits you in the face as soon as it starts, with no chill. Grazy is an up and coming artist who has released some excellent tracks lately, with this one providing one of the best examples of fandom psytrance I’ve heard. Absolutely evoking the feeling of being lost in amongst a thunderstorm, the classic psy bass design combines perfect with orcherstral and vocal hits alongside some terrific stormy atmosphere. Definitely an artist to watch if they keep up stuff like this!
[P@D] Age Of Vinyl – Heroes of The Sky | Drum & Bass
Age of Vinyl’s drum & bass creations always impress me, and this is arguably one of his best yet. Creating a gorgeous emotion that pulls you in almost immediately, the drums are smooth and the vocal chops are the absolutely height of what I love about this sort of sound. Combined with the gentle bass and uplifting arpeggiation, it’s well worth a listen and certainly one of my favourite songs of this style to come out of the fandom!
TurquoisePianist – Aerial Exploration | Electronic/Orchestral
Newcomer TurquoisePianist brings us Aerial Exploration, an electronic track with orchestral composition that varies in styles throughout. When combined with the changing instrumental features, TurquoisePianist achieves a sense of viewing different cultures, giving the track a more worldly vibe – as though you are exploring from the sky! I really like the dancing bell section 3 minutes in and encourage everyone to listen to the exciting themes prevalent throughout the whole song!
[P@D] Osoch – An Eclipsed Land (feat. Pablo Mono & Chris Wöhrer) | Progressive Metal / Metalcore
Imagine Dream Theater mixed with Killswitch Engage. This song gives off the best feels from both of those iconic bands! Coming from the most recent Ponies at Dawn album, Skyward. A big sensation in brony metal scene, Osoch collaborated with Chris Wöhrer and Osoch’s friend from college, Pablo Mono. An Eclipsed Land is inspired by Fallout Equestria:Project Horizons, and is a great headbanging track for metalheads. The progression of the guitar riffs, mixed with Mono’s clean vocals and Wöher’s growls, make this song a treat and one of the best on Skyward! Good job on this one! Keep it up with the headbanging tunes!
