SpinScissor – Three Friends Watching Stars Explode | Piano Rock

This song is a smoky yet graceful introspection with a solid backing beat, interweaving several timid yet hopeful anthems throughout. SpinScissor’s description of the song says it

“details the story of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, who, on one fateful night, decide to brave the unknown by venturing together deep into the Everfree Forest through the pitch black, and are rewarded greatly for it with a one-of-a-kind memory that they’ll surely never forget.”-SpinScissor

They go on to add a personal note, which says a lot about the tone of this piece-

“As an anxious person, I often struggle to take risks, and I tend to severely overthink even the most small and inconsequential decisions at times. This song serves as a reminder to myself, and to anyone else that may need it, that some risks, no matter how daunting they may seem in the moment, truly are worth taking.”-SpinScissor

All in all, it is well worth the listen, and we hope you enjoy it.

Direct Current – Clinging Thoughts of a Lit Wick | Piano/Ambient

Direct Current’s latest track is a lovely minimalist piece about the passing of time. It opens up with a slightly de-tuned piano laced with static before flourishing with DC’s iconic processed vocals accompanied by subtle bass and light orchestral stabs. And then, just as it feels like it’s getting started, it goes fleetingly back to piano and then silence, just like the sand in an hour glass on its final grains. Make sure you don’t blink, or you’ll miss it!
