Remember when I said Last Tempest would become the new Discord? Well, Queen of Misfits might have taken that title. RottenTotten’s remix changes the vocal rhythm up a little while retaining the original’s 80s influence with the synths and drums. The drum samples and added piano chords give the song a more natural edge, as if it was recorded in a studio. Just a little change can add so much!
Audios
Kryptage – Ballad of the Brony VIP | Breakbeat
After a couple years’ hiatus, Kryptage has returned with a VIP version of 2012’s Ballad of the Brony! With a new coat of paint, the instruments have been remastered to sound better than ever, even trading the original’s vocal chops for samples of Saberspark talking about the fandom and the impact it’s had. With more and more names returning, it’s clear the fandom’s not going anywhere anytime soon!
L-Train – Fear of Flight (Covering Aviators) | Thrash Metal
The L-Train’s starting up again, and our destination is Fear of Flight, an Aviators cover. L-Train’s take on the song replaces the electronic elements with straight-up thundering thrash metal, charging at full speed with riffs and licks that annihilate everything in its path. The heavier edge this cover brings gives the song a new identity, as if to show a sudden burst of confidence in Fluttershy’s determination to conquer her fear of flying!
MelodyBrony – This Kingdom [2020] (feat. Cyril the Wolf) | Heavy Metal
MelodyBrony returns with a remake of one of his first tracks, This Kingdom. Joining him is Cyril the Wolf on vocals, with Melody providing the instrumentation. What follows is a heavy metal track with fast paced drums, driving guitars and soaring vocals. Seriously, Cyril’s range on this track is insane. Gotta hand it to this duo for creating an amazing piece of work!
DAϟH – Dream Demon | Gabber
Don’t go to bed… Track 5 from Equestrian Terror: An Introduction is Dream Demon, a heavy-hitting gabber track based around Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?. Samples from the episode are dotted all over, with the fast-paced drums and heavily distorted bass giving an overwhelming feeling of dread, as if the Tantabus is planning to do exactly that; overwhelm the population with horror. Scary stuff!
ShobieShy – Shower Thoughts | Horrorcore

Contains dark lyrical themes as well as profanity. Feel free to click “continue reading” if you’re brave enough.
Whirlwind – Flight | Ambient
While Whirlwind is primarily known for his drumming skills in the fandom, he’s recently began making his way into original music by way of electronica. Flight is a chilled out ambient track that combines Rhodes style synths with erratic electronic drums, making it sound very much like an Aphex Twin song. Whirlwind has stated that it was based on a dream where he was flying with Rainbow Dash, and the song definitely gives off that vibe!
m2the3rd – Differently, A Derpy Song (feat. JustKat) | Soft Rock
Derpy’s one of the show’s most iconic and usually relatable characters. Differently is a song about Derpy’s struggles and overcoming them, featuring some adorable vocals from JustKat. The instrumentation is comprised of soft rock elements, including glitzy bells and acoustic chords, the song’s focus mainly being on JustKat’s voice and the bassline. A cute song just about being yourself!
Vylet Pony – Queen of Misfits (ft. Cabi and Namii) (Zizkil Remix) | Electropop
The Queen of Misfits remixes are crawling out through the woodworks. Retaining the original vocals and some 80s synths, Zizkil’s remix showcases an electropop style, with sprinklings of other musical elements, such as a choir, punchy 80s style bass sounds and even a reggae beat at one point. The sound design is pristine and clear as glass, and serves as a supplement to the already great original.
Branrich VanIster – World In The Mirror | Soundtrack
Branrich VanIster returns with another instrumental composition, this one based on Equestria Girls. With that in mind, the track’s use of synthesised guitar, drums and piano give off heavy RPG game vibes, as if the main character’s just stumbled upon the school and is ready to get settled in on the first day, possibly meeting the mane 6 in the process. Sometimes you don’t need words to get out an optimistic feeling!
