BABSCon has got some EPIC musical themes for 2016, and this is one of them! The convention actually has a very interesting pony backstory that links with the real world (you can read about it here, it even has a comic!) and this is the character theme for Queen Quake. With mighty riffs and instrumental from Cyril the Wolf and Tarby, dark lyrics from both SonyaLynn and Tarby, and mighty vocals from Strumpet-chan, this delightfully villainous piece with a Nightwish-y fragrance has got everything!

Ponies At Dawn: Awakening – Live Release Party Friday 29th April!
THE HYPE TRAIN HAS NO BRAKES! As you may know from our Cider Party exclusive posts, the latest Ponies At Dawn compilation album is set to be released this coming Friday. What you probably didn’t know is that our friends at PonyvilleFM have got an entire day’s worth of DJ sets and live shows to celebrate it!
The day starts 10am Eastern with 7 different hour-long DJ sets, with the official album playthrough starting at 5pm Eastern, hosted by Lycan and Chord Catcher as a special edition of Lycan Dese Beats. The whole album lasts for over 4 hours, SOOO much music! Following that, 3 more DJ sets to finish off the day, ending at midnight.

A fun, bouncy little pop song from Rusty sure to put a smile on your face (unless you’re this guy). It’s full of little scat parts and an amusing little bridge which I’m sure Rusty had a lot of fun putting together! Go check it out for happy bouncy smiles!

All the potential from season 5 episodes is far from being dried up. It continues to inspire, resulting in musical interpretations such as this smooth Hip Hop Instrumental track that fits very well to the mood of Rarity Investigates!, perhaps making for a great “main theme” for the episode.
Metapony – Sakura | Progressive House
The word “sakura” stands for cherry blossom petals, an important cultural symbol in Japan, usually representing a new beginning with new hopes, along the start of spring and the new semester in Japanese schools. It is quite a clever title for one of the tracks opening the ball of the new Ponies at Dawn album (reminder : you can preorder it here), and a much uplifting Progressive House masterpiece at that! Using such classic pony samples as Twilight from I’ve Got to Find a Way, its positive melodies and sounds will make you feel as light as a sakura falling from a cherry tree (which speed is exactly of 5 Centimeters Per Second, by the way).

An interesting piece close to being a “concept track”, Sad Mind is evoking a certain melancholy, and the strings-like sounds are definitely embodying Octavia. With a musical mood reflecting the theme, orchestral notes and a pretty awesome sound design, this song is like a story unfolding!
