うすうすベア – A Bear Joins The Herd EP | Hardcore

Inkling has *another* EP for us under another alias. You might be thinking “already?”, but this mostly consists of other tracks released over the past few months under said alias, compiled together in a neat little 7-track hardcore package. Catch the full writeup after the break.

The EP kicks off to an upbeat start with Rainbow Dream Race, which I still insist sounds like it would aptly fit into some kind of futuristic racing game -the Wipeout series springs to mind. I guess that’s pretty accurate for a song about Rainbow Dash though.

Onto some gabber now, and the song CIDR.XXX, originally released back in Februrary, and recently picked up for a Cider Party promo (rather fitting when you listen to some of the vocal chops). Punchy kicks and arps galore, this track should quench your thirst for hardcore…okay, yes I’m stealing hackd’s jokes now.

Cast your mind back to the beginning of March and we had Derpy Day, the international brony holiday a day to celebrate Derpy by eating muffins or something. A blend of chiptune and happy hardcore, “chipcore” if you will, this song to upbeat to not make you smile (the cute animation in the YouTube video helps too!)

A new track as a addition to this EP, burstin’ sun was featured on the recent King Mars tribute album. Also a “collaboration” with fractilx, one of Inkie’s other aliases.

Another “collab”, this time with KILXYU, we return to badmouth Fluttershy. Inkie’shad a go at Frenchcore/Hardtek, and the result is one of the fastest paced tracks on the EP, with censor beeps galore for added comic effect.

The final two tracks consist of a recently published track in tribute the the best recurring purple dragon in the show, and the instrumental version of said track. A fast trancecore song with possible techno influences (sounding similar in some parts to something Dynamite Grizzly might make), this song makes some good use of vocal sampling too…unless you’re listening to the instrumental version…obviously.

This EP is definitely one to get your blood pumping; the tempo doesn’t drop below 160bpm, so it’s definitely one for the fans of fast paces and pumping drums. You can download this EP for free, or any named price, on InklingBear’s Bandcamp and find all of these songs on Inkie’s YouTube channel.
