DivinumX’s last pony-related song was released so long ago that it predates the creation of this site, so it seems this is their first ever feature here, but what an entrance to make, eh? I’m probably not qualified to comment on the technicalities of this track, but the constantly changing drum patterns and awesome solo sections are what catch my attention the most about this track. And even better, it’s a two-parter, so subscribe to DivinumX to keep an eye out for that future sequel!

Hay Tea & Sky Runner – Pink But Actually Red | Drum & Bass
These two make a great collaborative duo, their joint projects are fantastic dnb songs, and to have two artists that specialise in liquid work together is bound to ensure a solid track. Check it out for some nice smooth and chilled dnb.
Elias Frost – Celestia’s Ballad (covering Daniel Ingram) | Folk/Metal
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 14 February 2017.
Elias Frost is back with another show cover, this time of Celestia’s Ballad. For the most part it’s a pretty chilled out and focuses on some soft instrumentation and Elias’ vocals, but it gets a bit metal towards the end where there’s an instrumental solo. The vocals here suit his voice really well, as whilst the original came across relatively motherly in tone, this certainly has a similarly fatherly feel to it.
The Midnight Musician – Cider Party | Big Room
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 12 February 2017.
Midnight Musician’s taken the idea of a ‘cider party’ pretty literally! This track’s about a cider-filled event at Sweet Apple Acres and has some pretty solid low vocals building up to a big room drop carried by a synth sound that’s pretty characteristic of the genre. It’s a bit of a weird track, but there’s nothing wrong with the occasional track having a bit of character to it in my opinion, so check it out if you’re not averse to that!

Hay Tea – Alternate History VIP | Drum & Bass
Hay’s original version of this came out several months ago, but it’s always nice to hear revamped versions of already stellar tracks. It doesn’t differ hugely from the original, but as Hay Tea puts it himself, ‘New drums, new bass, new mix and better mastering’. Higher quality sounds are always appreciated.
PhonicB∞m – Pensive | Chillout
Phonic’s been experimenting a bit it seems – this chillout piece makes use of both ambient sound effects as part of the percussion and quirky wobbling bass sounds. An interesting hybrid of sounds that works surprisingly better than my less-than-apt description of them!
Ponytronic – Near Clear Skies (Plexitofer Remix) | Electro House
I never thought it possible to make electro house sound so chill, but Plexitofer does just that in this remix of Ponytronic’s Near Clear Skies (appropriate vibe for the song title, eh?). Nice clean drums and a great lead sound are what stand out in particular from this track for me.
Top Ten Pony Songs of January 2016!
The monthly community-voted top ten is back again, the first of the year. January’s results include 4everfreebrony, a show song remix, and a meme. So business as usual for the fandom it seems…
[P@D] DJT ft. Puffy – Peppermint (Silva Hound Remix) | Future Bass
This was a nice surprise to hear on Amity – not just the fact that Silva Hound got involved with Ponies At Dawn, but released a future bass track for the first time in years. This remix of Peppermint, from the previous P@D album, keeps the uplifting futurey feel of the original, but sits at the more trap-influenced end of the future bass spectrum, with those classic 808 kicks and snares.
