For the first time, the outrageously talented Blackened Blue shows off his singing chops and crafts a kick-flank metal song about Yona’s struggles with identity and belonging. Blackened Blue’s guitar tone, drums, clean vocals, mixing, and, of course, screams are all on-point here, and this may be his catchiest song yet. I quite enjoy the bridge section’s vocal effects and guitar tones especially! Fans of metal music from the 2000s will be extremely pleased with this one.

Radiarc – The Familiar | Hybrid Orchestral
Radiarc never fails to deliver not only creative music that sets itself apart, but also an experience that immerses you into his world. Going by Radiarc’s description, the song not only deals with a ghostly presence that lingers around but is a manifestation of his struggles in his personal life. To create such a unique hybrid piece and to convey those struggles in the music is always something I’ve lauded Radiarc for, and The Familiar might be up there with Aleph Null as one of my favorites from him.
Tripon – Cascade | Neurofunk
In what might be his most extreme tune thus far, Cascade really feels like Tripon is showcasing the limits of his production and composition abilities. Going along with Out of Limit 4‘s theme of time, Tripon’s piece alludes to Starlight’s time-altering spells used in the Season 5 finale. The build is long and haunting (as Tripon has shown he’s excellent at creating) and the drop is perhaps what you might expect from Tripon, but cranked up to 11. The tune is frantic, heavily utilizes samples, and is certainly one of the most unique fandom songs in recent memory. Big ups to noise.horse for consistently bringing out the weirdest from musicians (you can grab the Out of Limit 4 compilation this song is featured on here)!
Night Blaze – Dissonance | Orchestral
Night Blaze, who’s been composing pony songs for a few years now, has come through with an orchestral piece that does a very good job at differentiating itself from the pack. It is themed around a time in Equestria’s past where Discord (and actual discord) ruled over Equestria. The repetition in the percussion actually works in the piece’s favor and the guitar work and tone on display is excellent. The way Night Blaze sets the tone for a dystopian Equestrian past is amazing!
Vylet Pony – Shivers | Hip Hop / Jazz
The ever-creative Vylet Pony blesses us with yet another tune, this one off her recent album Love Letters: Colourless, that defies convention yet maintains her signature style (well, one of her many signature styles). This one begins as a low-key hip hop tune featuring some pleasant synth work before cranking it up to 11 and, eventually, morphing into a full-on jazz song with authentic basses, pianos, and vocals very befitting of the style. Also, Dash vocal chops! I’ll always people to check out any Vylet song, and this one is no different!
Daniel Ingram – Apples to the Core (Rod Steven Remix) | Eurobeat
Ever inspired by the OG Eurobeat Brony, Rod Steven has recently taken it upon himself to start developing his own style of Eurobeat. Just a few days ago, he blessed us with a remix of the classic Apples to the Core, which seems like it would be ripe for a Eurobeat remix! This one is about what you’d expect from a solid pony Eurobeat remix: an extremely dancey beat, infectious melodies in the breaks between the choruses and verses, and high energy throughout, so don’t miss out on this one!
Light Assassin – Equus Daemonium | Synthwave
The veteran musician Light Assassin has graced us with yet another hard-hitting tune! This time, the theme appears to be that of a pony demon terrorizing everywhere it goes. This should be a treat for any fans of synthwave, especially synthwave with a distinct groove to it, as all the elements come together excellently for a banger!
Forest Rain – Twilight’s Lament (feat. Wubcake) | Orchestral
An emotional piece showcasing many forms of art including story-telling and voice acting, this collab with Wubcake certainly has a lot of emotion with that tragic story and the grand Orchestral composition designed to fit to the unfolding of the events. Definitely a masterpiece!
[Equinity] Cynifree – Kodama | Ambient House
I want you to picture something in your mind, as you hear the start of this. Rainbow Dash has been challenged to a fight by Lightning Dust. They both see each other in the distance as they fly at each other over the skies of Cloudsale. That’s the first 36 seconds of this song goes before the mood changes before both Pegasi are duking it out in an epic duel. There’s just enough intensity going in and out to give this song this epic dueling music with such an emotional atmosphere. It’s fitting that my colleague Cynifree is basing this off the real Japanese Kirin lore. I invite you to listen for yourself, As always judge for yourself and see if what this Dragon Pony says it true. It only the first track of the Equinity 01: Stellar album. Not a bad start!
[Equinity] Doodled & Tw3Lv3 – Sunrise | Trap / Psytrance
Up-and-comer Tw3Lv3 has been consistently delivering a variety of dope tunes lately and, for the first Equinity album Stellar, he links up with Doodled to deliver a fresh summer anthem. Doodled, of course, has some of the most unique flows and lyrical stylings in the fandom and they are fully on display here. The production, as probably anticipated, is very summery. The trap drums from Tw3Lv3 are very well done and the psytrance featured in the hook fits the tone perfectly. Definitely a highlight from the first Equinity release!
