[ASOS] eksoka – Sartoria | Future Bass

Let’s give Rarity some love. Track 10 from A State of Sugar: Brownie is a VIP version of eksoka’s Sartoria! The original was a long house beat, but this new version sees things slow down while keeping a lot of the original elements such as the vocal samples and same general composition. Such a sweet and smooth remake!

StableTwoStallion – Böse Stuten | Industrial Metal

StableTwoStallion returns with his familiar German metal flair. Böse Stuten is about mares being bad, and coupled with the gloomy and eerie choir-laden metal song are images of anthro mares doing bad things. Mean mares and mean metal, what else could go better?

SCRATON – Veni Vidi Vici (Magic) | Future Bass

And so, we’ve come to the 6th and final piece of SCRATON’s mane 6-themed tracks. For those keeping watch, the last one we’ve been expecting is the element of magic, and it’s finally here. Veni Vidi Vici is a lovely future bass track with a smooth set of vocals and infectious trap elements. When the drop hits, we’re privy to a wonderful melody primarily driven by vocal chops and synths that you’ll never get enough of. The description notes that no king or queen rules forever, but their legacy will never die, which is a fitting analogy for MLP’s 4th generation as well as this series of songs. Such a beautiful way to send off this series of tracks!

Below is an additional review from guest writer DrakeEmberHeart.

Drake’s writeup:
SCRATON has saved Twilight for last. For the final track of his Mane 6 series, we get a track that feels and sound like what BOOKHORSE has been through. It’s some epic future bass that gets you picture the evolution of her character. The lyrics. The vocal chops, the spell binding meleody of her journey. When I hear this I picture her walking past moment of her greatness done in the show. From a student unicorn to big alicorn BOOKHORSE! This song is a celebration of princess Twilight Sparkle. As always this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself

[ASOS] One Track Mind – Post Pone (feat. Xol the Great) | Synthwave

One Track Mind’s style is a force to be reckoned with. Track 31 from A State of Sugar: Brownie is a powerful synthwave track that borrows elements from rock music, making it one of the compilation’s heavier tracks. Starting with a piano intro coupled with a sampled speech from Xol the Great, we’re then thrust into a industrial synthwave track. The driving synthline is reminiscent of a distorted guitar which gives the whole thing a rock edge. The middle breakdown sees everything strip down to just a piano, followed by some picked strings and military drums kept in time with a ticking clock. After some time, everything builds back up full force and we’re back in motion. This track honestly feels like it’d perfectly fit a racing game!

[ASOS] Zizkil – Fervor | Complextro

Zizkil returns to A State of Sugar with the 9th track from Brownie! Fervor – which is written about Dragon Lord Ember – showcases his familiar complextro style with eerie vocal chops, elements of trap and ethnic-sounding instruments. Give it up for the ASOS staple!

[ASOS] Voltex Pixel & GrazySmash – Hooves To My Buddy | House

An appropriate name for a collab, Hooves To My Buddy is the 5th track from A State of Sugar: Brownie, with Voltex Pixel and GrazySmash teaming up to create such a banger! The result is something that sounds like it could have been pulled straight from the 90s with an era-appropriate house beat featuring an uplifting melody. This flavour of brownie was made with plenty of sugar, it seems!

[ASOS] BassPon3 – Soarin’ Through Cloudsdale | Trance

BassPon3’s music always has a nostalgic charm to it. Track 29 from A State of Sugar: Brownie is his contribution Soarin’ Through Cloudsdale, which features his signature electronic style pulled straight from the 2000s. The song contains an etherial-sounding pad at the beginning with some faux wind instrument synths which contain the main melody before slowly pushing into a massive bouncy drop where the song truly takes flight. The sky and flying are common themes in his music lately, and it’s no wonder, since this one will definitely make you feel like you’re up in the clouds!

Checkerëd – EASY | PsyCircut

Checkerëd returns with another psychedelic original. EASY is, despite the name, an erratic track with lots of crazy synth and drum sounds in a genre coined by Checkerëd himself: PsyCircuit! His unique flair definitely sticks out on this track, and the craziness doesn’t stop!

[ASOS] Hoofy – CAKE! | Bass House

Hoofy’s sound design just gets better and better. Track 25 from A State Of Sugar: Brownie is CAKE!, a powerful bass house tune with some sweet, tasty saws. Once that drop hits, the chance of you staying still is incredibly low. This one starts off bouncy and doesn’t let up until the very end. A few dubstep elements are sprinkled through this track, particularly in one of the drops where the tempo slows down ever so to bring in the heaviness. One of the harder flavours on the album!

Ponysphere & Unca-Secse – We Are Bad | Heavy Metal

Did this track come straight from the 80s? Ponysphere and Secret Metal (credited here as Unca-Secse) team up to create a heavy metal beast heavily inspired by metal from the 80s. The production, guitar and even the vocals (which sound like the late Ronnie James Dio at some points) are crafted straight out of that era of music, while the lyrics depict the rogue CMCs wreaking havoc across Equestria. It’s amazing what two minds and a lot of beer can come up with!
