[ASOS] Zizkil – Dead Nostalgia | Complextro

Is there anything Zizkil’s not good at? Track 12 on ASOS: Waffle, this is one of two tracks by them (the other being their collaboration VIP with Cynifree). It showcases Zizkil’s signature electronic style super well, with funky basslines, heavy, dynamic and bouncy synths, along with unique percussion sounds. Short but sweet, it’s definitely a good fit in the ASOS catalog!

Vylet Pony (feat. 4everfreebrony – Every Dream | Pop

This is a dream collaboration. Track 17 from Love Letters: Colourless, this slow track takes clear influence from ballads from the 80s. Joining Vylet is the incredible 4everfreebrony on vocals, completing this already great piece with a duet between the two and finishing up with an emotional guitar solo. Easily one of the best tracks on the whole album!

Rusty Thorsell – Forevermore | Indie Pop

This month’s proved to be full of emotional venting songs, which makes sense considering it’s just under three weeks until the very last episodes of MLP:FiM air. In that spirit, Rusty’s back yet again with his usual unique electronic fare. His passionate voice cuts through the song with power as he sings about how the show brings him energy and happiness, a message that I think most of us can relate to. As the song extends, it slowly twists into a chaotic mess before getting back on track and building up to the powerful climax. Don’t sleep on this one!

Ardhy Mahardhy – Equestria My Home | Future Bass

Ardhy Mahardhy is a rising star in the MLP scene, and it’s clear to see why with his brilliant future bass tracks like this one. We have ourselves here a tribute to Equestria and the show itself, with a mix of happy and sad melodies. Towards the middle of the song is a beautiful cello breakdown that slowly rises in volume, which Ardhy imagines Octavia playing. A beautiful tribute to the show that brought us together!

Toby Macarony – Surprise | Electronica

It was only a matter of time before Surprise would get her very own song, right? Fitting title too; it starts off with a beautiful orchestral and choral arrangement before suddenly jumping into an upbeat and bouncy tune with organs and piano sounds, as well as Toby’s signature synthetic style! Much like his last tune, it looks like Surprise is also eager to enter a staring contest, so good luck!

Steryotype – Lofi Pon EP | Lo-fi

Our patience has been rewarded, as Steroytype’s debut EP, Lofi Pon EP is finally here! 14 tracks of lo-fi hip hop goodness, with sprinkles of MLP samples and various vintage sounds, such as vinyl noise and old time music. The majority of tracks are less than two minutes long, so nothing here feels like it goes on too long or overstays its welcome. Stand out tracks are JustKeepVibin with its clear hip hop influence coupled with a modified horn sample, and TheyDon’tReallyLikeMe (OhWell) , containing a lovely melody and manipulated guitar samples while keeping the general lo-fi aesthetic. Groovy yet serene, this is a beautiful EP that you can simply sit back and relax to after a long day.

StableTwoStallion – DrIacSonCeqOuuRsD | Industrial Metal

Neue Deutsche Härte is alive and well, and it’s spreading in the fandom thanks to StableTwoStallion! This track’s about the chaotic side of Discord, represented perfectly with his gravelly voice (which is eerily reminiscent of Till Lindemann) and the gothic choirs in tandem with the riff-driven guitars. I guess you could say it’s about as chaotic as Discord himself!

Night Blaze – Change | Orchestral

Night Blaze is a gem. This track is an orchestral piece themed around the changelings and their ill-documented history, and the mood of the song definitely reflects upon this with its drawn out string melodies and brooding percussion that give the feeling of confidence, but also anxiety. I leave you with one question: which changeling form came first, their dark side, or their “reformed” side?

Miles Kintner – She Who Brings The Night | Orchestral

Miles Kintner keeps bringing the goods, slowly but surely. This time, it’s a newer version of his piano tribute to Princess Luna from 2017, this time with a fully orchestral arrangement. All the new instruments accompanying the piano only serve to make an already beautiful piece even more full and beautiful, almost as much as the princess of the night herself.

ShobieShy – House of Glim | House

ShobieShy’s back at it again with another banger, except unlike his usual hip hop fare, this one’s a house tune. It’s all about Starlight Glimmer, and is filled with plenty of voice samples of conversations between the titular character and Twilight Sparkle, the latter of whom’s forced laughs are plastered in every drop, fitting perfectly with each beat. Good luck getting this out of your head!
