Cloud Hop – Endgame | Hybrid Orchestral

Today marks the grand return of orchestral and electronic musician Erik McClure, better known as Cloud Hop! Endgame is his first release since April 2019, and serves as the closing track to his new album, Dreams of Distant Stars. The song, for its part, is inspired by the final battle of the show, incorporating electronic drums sounds in front of the orchestral background, painting an image of the Equestrian forces building up confidence to finally take on the Tartarus Trio. Towards the end, there’s even a key change which makes this piece sound more dynamic and emotional, sounding like the final buildup to a battle of epic proportions. Kinda like this track, really. Cloud Hop definitely hasn’t lost his charm!

MrMehster – Holi (Festival of Colours) (Ricardofr-200 Remix) | Synthwave

ricardofr-200’s first attempt at synthwave is a remix of MrMehster’s submission to ASOS: Ice Cream, Holi (Festival of Colors)! The original was a psychedelic trance piece with world-inspired vocal samples and drops, this remix brings it back to the 80s and slows down gradually, fitting the pace of a night time drive. You know a song is good when you can turn it into a completely different style and still make it sound amazing.

[VibePoniez] Canvas – Better With Time (The Empty Tomb Remix) | Future Bass

They say time heals all wounds. Track 11 from Skyscrapers is a remix of Canvas’ Better With Time, produced by The Empty Tomb. While the original was a laid-back lo-fi piece, TET’s rendition keeps the chill vibes while turning into a jumpy and optimistic future bass track! Check out those Pinkie samples; they only make this track more of a joy to listen to, especially during the end when the beat picks up!

Koron Korak – The Spectacle (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Symphonic Rock

There’s been many covers of The Spectacle over the years, and Koron Korak is the latest one to do this! His more symphonic take on the original adds strong live drums, a distorted guitar track and even a violin as the lead instrument, replacing Lena Hall’s voice. You don’t wanna miss out on this one, since it’s a… spectacle!

[VibePoniez] 7th Stive – Blank | Trip-Hop

There’s a new compilation in town. Track 5 from the newly released VibePoniez album Skyscrapers is Blank, a trip-hop track from 7th Stive. Nothing but chill vibes from this one, as we’re treated to some soft arpeggiated 90s-influenced synths and a low rumbling bass behind a very familiar drum sample. The only thing wrong is that this wasn’t the 7th track. Missed opportunity, guys!

Lianella Stilson – Rn’R | Moombahcore

Let’s make some party?

Lianella Stilson’s music can easily go from relaxing to heavy-hitting depending on the song, and this one could easily fit in the former category. Rn’R is all about making the most of a bad situation, and that you will make it through it. With Lianella’s electronically-charged voice, powerful bass growls and the crazy visual of a pony holding on above a flashing city, there’s nothing you can’t get into with this one!

Jonny Music & Yensid Organist – Open Up Your Eyes (Organ Cover) | Organ Solo

The MLP movie soundtrack has plenty of bangers, and Open Up Your Eyes is one of them. Jonny Music and Yensid Organist have come together to create a fresh arrangement of the song on a church organ, and good thing too, because this song translates perfectly to the instrument. All of Emily Blunt’s vocal lines, the chords and soft instruments seen in the original fit perfectly here; the organ really captures the menacing tone we heard in the original!

Rinnie – Celestia’s Ballad (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Rock

Rinnie’s latest cover from the show is of Celestia’s Ballad, one of the more memorable numbers from season 3. The added guitars and drums add a new feeling to the original, complimenting Celestia’s voice. The overall sound feels like something from the 80s thanks to the electronic drum sounds and additional keyboard riffs towards the end, and the original audio from the episode where she transforms (without the visuals, mind you) adds a lot of suspense!

Intersekt – Hurricane (feat. Koa) | Drum & Bass

Intersekt returns with their first original single in a year, and boy was it worth the wait. Hurricane is a strong drum n’ bass track with atmospheric piano chords and strong basslines, combined with the beautiful guest vocals from Koa, singing about struggles and anxiety. There’s a powerful drop with heavy warbling bass sounds that even keeps the melody with a piano, making it sound relaxed yet strong at the same time. Check out the drop three minutes in; it’s crazy!
