GNG – TWILIGHTS POINTS (NO POINT) | Hip-Hop

Content warning: explicit lyrics

GNG just dropped a new banger, this one centered around one of our favorite purple horses! This rap song opens with ambient chanting echoing around you on all sides before sending shivers up your spine with its deep bass and lower octave lyrics. GNG’s flow is on point, and his vocal control in every register is outstanding with the main vocals higher up, and background vocals blending in all the way to the bass and trap beat. It’ll keep you on the edge of your seat as you listen to catch every word!

Thrack – Winter Wishday (Feat. 4EverfreeBrony, Ocean Breeze, Jesh PK & Friends) | Folk

Thrack, 4EverfreeBrony, and Ocean Breeze have formed a trio (accompanied by Jesh PK) to sing this lovely carol about the holiday spirit, backed by piano, guitar, and chimes. The three take turns singing about fun holiday traditions like decorating and playing in the snow, in addition to hope, joy, and all the warm fuzzies. The best part is when their voices come all together in harmony during the chorus – tt’s absolutely delightful and sure to warm you up! Also can someone give me pointers on how to make 10 foot tall snow ponies? Y’all have some serious skills.

The Wilders – A Little Bit of You Remix (ThatBaconHairGirl) | Pop

Today we’re covering a track made by a newer artist to the fandom, ThatBaconHairGirl, who’s been pumping out remixes left and right for the last 6 months. This one’s a take on a holiday tune from Tell Your Tale; it maintains the warmth of the guitars and vocals, but doesn’t stay too cozy as it immediately spices things up with a variety of percussive sounds and effects before swinging right into the original drop, making it bigger and better than before. It’s sure to put a smile on your face!

Daniel Ingram – Hearts Strong As Horses (JTH Remix) | House

NEW REMIX ALERT! JoinedTheHerd is back with another banger, this time remixing “Hearts Strong as Horses” from Friendship is Magic. This smooth house track starts out with guitar, but quickly shifting into dancing synth arpeggios. In fact, every time JTH comes back to a verse, it’s with new instrumentation – sometimes with guitar, sometimes with epic orchestra, sometimes with glockenspiel! The main choruses are equally delightful with their mellow bass, background vocals, and Apple Bloom chops. It’s a wonderful mix overall and quite inspiring to see new G4 remixes a decade after the original came out!

Nyanakaru – Memo to myself | Frutiger Aero

Nyanakaru keeps trying out lots of new genres and styles, and “Memo to myself” is no exception. Based on the glossy aesthetic known as frutiger aero, this track makes use of many different lead and pad synths, even panning some hard left and right to make them extra spacial. Before long, it settles in to a nice, jazzy groove lead by a saw synth and finishes quietly with a more laid back, midi-sounding piano. Words alone doesn’t do the piece justice, so make sure to take a listen yourself to this unique soundscape.

Direct Current – Clinging Thoughts of a Lit Wick | Piano/Ambient

Direct Current’s latest track is a lovely minimalist piece about the passing of time. It opens up with a slightly de-tuned piano laced with static before flourishing with DC’s iconic processed vocals accompanied by subtle bass and light orchestral stabs. And then, just as it feels like it’s getting started, it goes fleetingly back to piano and then silence, just like the sand in an hour glass on its final grains. Make sure you don’t blink, or you’ll miss it!

The result is a lovely, laid back ambient house track perfectly fitting for the season, and it continues to shine with a warm bass present in the chorus, some fun synth riffs, and cool effects sprinkled throughout. Make sure to listen to this track when you need something to warm up to this winter!

Evershade – Those Nights | Pop

Another track from Evershade’s Troublemaker album is up on their channel! “Those Nights” begins with a bouncy synth lead, and the sparkly synth choices don’t end there! A bouncy bass follows and more soaring leads get groovy during the chorus. Evershade’s vocoded vocals fit right into the synths, and if you listen carefully, you’ll hear the relatable tale of a pony caught out at the club, wanting to escape. On the bright side, if you can’t manage to leave, at least you’ll be stuck listening to this bop.

Blackened Blue – Save Me | Metal

Do you ever wish you could scream at the pony causing all your problems? Blackened Blue’s track, “Save Me,” is just that, with screaming vocals telling the story of Misty’s thoughts directed towards Opaline. The intro will have you hooked with the heavy wall of sound, catchy guitar riffs, and fantastic shredding in both the bass and guitar parts. From there it transitions between high intensity sections full of roars and shredding and lower intensity walking melodic lines. It’s absolutely fire so make sure to check it out.
