[P@D] MEQA, L.M., Cosmic Fox, AJ Young, Soundnix & Quadrivia – Bronycalypse | Dubstep

The end is not the end.
One of the sneak peak tracks of Ponies at Dawn Skyward album this track is a MASSIVE six way collab between some great artists. Opening up with some moody guitars and pizzicatos it quickly builds into a wonderous cacophony of interchanging styles weaving in and out of each other! the melancholic interlude finishing off the track also gives us a retrospective vibe to briefly reflect back on the past decade and is such a fun and professional song. If there is one thing I can get behind, its collabs, and on this scale it hits home the fact that the fandom won’t disappear after the show, there is a world of untapped potential just waiting to be explored and I think we can go on for a long time coming!

Niłch’i Poni – V’ynuk | Liquid Drum & Bass / Siberian Folk

Niłch’i (F 109) is no stranger to ambiance and sound design and this is no exception! The opening piano chords and pads are rich, deep and carry a weight behind them and that’s only the beginning. The focus shifts most notably with what appears to be a jaw harp(?) of all instruments and a more ethnic, folk sound with some tight and complex break beats to tie in to the main genre of the song. Everything ebbs and flows like water through out from the chimes to the one shots and reverberates so cleanly and mysteriously. I absolutely adore the very deep and gritty bassline that punches through at times and the dynamic range really shines through with these iterations. This is truly a unique masterpiece and truly immerses you into its world!

Nicolas Dominique – The Spark of Inspiration | Liquid Drum & Bass

An inspiring piece to say the least. Nicolas always dishes out a masterful helping of ambiance in their songs. In fact they have a hand in sparking my motivation and design choices. The Spark of Inspiration is a fast-paced atmospheric masterpiece with a piercing melody that doesn’t give us much information to go off but thats the beauty of it. Its not about the song its what YOU make of the song. What do you enjoy? What inspires you?
What is your spark?

Daniel Ingram – Flawless (Ice Angel Remix) | Future Bass

A soothing and airy remix by Ice Angel. Opening with a crisp acoustic guitar melody building into a wondrous future bass track and bridges the gaps with iterations of orchestral, piano solos, and even rock. This remix gives a little something for everyone and is a nice heartfelt piece!

Daniel Ingram – Open Up Your Eyes (Tripon Remix) | Neurofunk

Tripon is back with a really cool twist on Open Up Your Eyes! Starting off with some sharp and eerie plucks the track quickly builds into an absolute banger with an intense bassline with a shuffled rhythm adding to the madness! Tempest cuts through the mix surprisingly well and the ‘softer’ part that we all know from the original also gets the full treatment with a calmer atmosphere and a little room to take a quick break before we get back into the meat of things! This is one of my favourite remixes of this song to date and if you’re looking for a unique remix, you’ve got one right here!

Evgeniy Doctor – Lethal Wrap Up | Progressive Trance

Based off of the track Lethal Industry by Tiesto and blending a heavily processed version of Winter Wrap Up, Evgeniy delivers an energetic and fun track with a very smooth progression that stays interesting throughout. I especially like how the vocals are reminiscent of General Mumble’s style with just enough distortion and tuning and helps bring out the darkness in the track without smothering it completely. An excellent track all around!

Forgiveness & Anguish – Another Day Away | Future Garage / Chillout

Its been nearly two years since I last heard from Forgiveness & Anguish and Another Day Away comes in with a dissonant and mysterious atmosphere with an impeccable sound stage and I absolutely adore the percussive low end energy that glues it all together. This is a very professional and unique sounding track and its an awesome way to re-enter after so many days away!

Toby Macarony – I’ve Watched You | Hybrid Orchestral / Dark Acapella

We’ve come a long way haven’t we? This is a surprisingly sweet tune from Toby as it leads in with a gentle acoustic guitar melody and a soothing backing of strings to harmonize with the iconic vocals from the Season Three Finale, “Celestia’s Ballad” but it wouldn’t be Toby if he left us on that, right? I can assure you as time goes on the track will flip on its head with a masterful use of complex chords and harmonization with a foreboding atmosphere and an almost industrial sound. It threw me for a loop the first time I heard it and I hope the same can be said to those who have yet to listen!

Rusty – 22nd Jeremiah |Indie Pop / Experimental

Rusty is back at it again with their unique style of story telling! This song is a haunting tale of the 22nd Jeremiah; a rusted metal husk of a ship said to contain countless souls and horrors lost at sea generations ago. The vocal processing is quite intriguing, and the steady rise and fall of the melody as it blends electronic elements and pirate themed  instrumentation really sells the story! The amount of unorthodox distortions and rigid aspects are quite an experimental treat! If a haunting shanty is what you are after then you’ve found the right song!

Nicolas Dominique – Warden of the Sky | Ambient

An Ethereal environment, as the sun rises, a wistful breeze whispers above the clouds as the warden of the sky flies over her kingdom. Nicolas has always had some of the most mesmerizing ambient tracks I’ve ever heard and this song does not disappoint! The progression is spectacular and theres just enough change and subtlety through out to keep the track morphing and evolving and to build a more grand image of our beloved Princess of the Sun!
