Elias Frost (ft. KaMmEr JaEgEr & Ice Gaze) – Bats (covering Daniel Ingram) | Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 28 November 2016.

Elias Frost has teamed up with a couple of other artists to finish up his month of German-language show song covers in a big way! Probably one of the coolest interpretations of this track, the use of different language vocals help this one stick out a lot. The vocals from Ice Gaze are sung in English however, which means there’s a bit of both in this track! The instrumental is pretty solid too, and a lot heavier than some of the other recent stuff Elias has done.

ertrii – Please Be Quiet | Chill House

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 21 November 2016.

Another beautiful chill track from ertrii to grace your ears! His style continues to be one of the most consistently calming in the scene and his abilities are put to good use here in the form of a chilled out house track. This one has a really nice lead that meanders throughout the majority of the piece to tie it together, and some pretty groovy drums too. Make sure to check it out if you want something calm and collected to cool you down.

Suskii – Run | Dubstep

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 21 November 2016.

Suskii is back with another super heavy dubstep banger. This one is a part of his new WIZARDS! EP, which contains a couple of other heavy dubstep tracks as well a future bass one. The mix of heavy dubstep sections with upbeat melodic breaks is on full show here, and the Pinkie Pie drop sample also works pretty well. I’m a big fan of Suskii’s sound design, so it’s definitely nice to hear more from him!

Silva Hound ft. Odyssey Eurobeat – Come Alive (NekoWolf Remix) | Deep House

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 19 November 2016.

Probably one of the better remixes I’ve heard of what has been one of Silva’s biggest pony tracks, Come Alive, this one is produced by NekoWolf and features some neat art from StrachAttack to go with it. Neko’s spin on this track is to give it a more groovy and chill atmosphere, whilst still retaining the energy pushed by the vocals. It has a really nice deep/future house-y drop style and it’s definitely worth checking out if you want a pretty awesome interpretation of what was already a pretty neat song!

NeverLastStanding – Tantalize | Drumstep

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 18 November 2016.

NeverLastStanding returns with an incredibly varied and high quality piece! Initially starting off as an electro banger quite similar to his last release, the second drop is a lot more trap-like in style, whilst the third and final one breaks out into drum & bass. The last part is definitely my favourite, and the liberal use of Starlight Glimmer vocal chops is a great addition. This track is also available as part of Shika No Mori Sound’s new compilation album Forest Fires, so check that out if you want more compilation album stuff!

Sights Unseen – Lullaby | Synthpop

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 9 November 2016.

Starting out with some haunting vocal choir-like harmonies, an ominous bassline soon rolls in, signifying that this is certainly not an especially happy song. Whilst it feels quite dark, I think the intended tone of this track is one of accepting that it’s okay to say goodbye. This is translated well with a transition later in the track towards more uplifting and yet sorrowful chords. Definitely a cool track from Sights, and well worth checking out if you want something bittersweet.

Chris Wöhrer -When You Are Supposed To Socialize But Turn Your Friends Into Mindless Zombies Instead | Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 8 November 2016.

Well, that’s quite the track name! Insane track name length aside, this piece about Starlight Glimmer’s escapades is awesome in all the right ways. It’s got some pretty non-stop energy, and the guitar riffs are all pretty great. It’s also cool to be able to see Chris Wohrer playing live courtesy of the video, where he (intentially or not, I don’t know!) pulls all sorts of amusing faces along the way. If that sounds like fun to you, make sure to check it out below!

New Reverian – Night Of The Willow | Orchestral

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 8 November 2016.

New Reverian makes a combination of orchestral and electronic tracks, and whilst some of their electronic stuff has been quite popular this track shows their orchestral works can be just as good! Luna is a popular source of inspiration for pieces such as this, and the heavy night-like tone of the track certainly fits her well. The woodwind and foley sounds back up some strong drums, piano and strings wonderfully, and overall this is a pretty neat track!

The L-Train & Cyril The Wolf – Attitude & Altitude | Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 6 November 2016.

The L-Train has started up a new project where he’s working with 6 different collaborators on 6 different genres to make songs about 6 different ponies, and this piece for Rainbow Dash with Cyril the Wolf is the first! Full of energy, cleanly mixed and featuring some pretty awesome metal vocals, this track definitely suits Rainbow Dash’s style, and it’s awesome to hear some new metal stuff from L-Train, who is definitely one of the best at it in the fandom. Make sure to check it out below!
