Francis Vace has been on a binge of covering prominent songs from the earlier days of the fandom, and continuing that trend he brings us an upbeat ska cover of one of PrinceWhateverer’s track from early January, Not Letting Go. Unsurprisingly, it works great!
Finally out a reasonable amount of time after the Ponies at Dawn: Starlit Flames album was actually released is this catchy tune from BL1NKY (formerly Core-Ridor), filled with sound design that evokes the feel of sailing on the high seas. This is one of my favourite tracks from Starlit Flames, and well worth checking out!
A very well-established fandom musician, Foozogz brings us something totally fresh from him, a happy hardcore-influenced future bass track featuring the vocals of a relatively new singer, MegglesKisses. The often highly upbeat and energetic nature of what future bass can be really fits with Foozogz’ style, and this is certainly one of my favourite tracks from the new Balloon Party album. If you haven’t heard it on the album already, go check it out!
Zatslol has produced some pretty awesome fandom tunes in the past, but his time with ponies seems to have finally run its course. The lyricism behind this track is really quite beautiful, singing about some stuff that I’m sure a lot of us musicians can relate to. Having been featured already once today, Seventh Element does it again here with a bizarre trap track filled with vocal samples all about Pinkie and her trusty tuba. In the words of Pinkie herself, ‘Have tuba, will travel!’
Balloon Party have been one of the driving forces behind fandom compilation albums in the past, and whilst this new iteration, Chromatic Horizons, is a little smaller than previous releases, it’s still well worth checking out, full of top-notch tunes from in and around the fandom.
Taking a break from the out of the box EDM music earlier in the day, Wandering Artist brings us a beautiful little orchestral track taking us on a journey of redemption for characters like Sunset Shimmer, The Great and Powerful Trixie, Moondancer and even Starlight Glimmer.
Following on in interesting genres, Virus Ponies brings in the trap with a chill track that moves along smoothly before becoming the opposite of smooth just before the end. Is it a good kind of surprise? Have a listen and judge for yourself!
Ponytronic rolls in with this intense trap-y breaks style electro remix of Hydra’s trap tune Honest. Ponytronic’s been releasing a whole tonne of different music over the last few years, and is just now approaching a well-deserved 3k subscribers. This track certainly shows why!
