Dauntless Dan’s newest track for Ponies At Dawn is a hard-hitting ~2.5mins of pure heart-pounding craziness with more drops than a summer rollercoaster. I’ll admit, when I first heard this track, I thought it’ll be a more chill track with some casual drops. NOPE! Each one is harder than the last one and I LOVE IT! Before I can recover from the previous one with the tease of chill melodic lines, I’m transitioned back into the high-energy, heavy percussion. It’s a thrill ride from start to finish. [Twitter: ]

[Equinity] Totalspark – They’re Coming VIP | Electro
Totalspark returns once again with their newest track for the Equinity Project: “They’re Coming VIP.” This is by far one of their heaviest tracks that I’ve heard, which I feel is fitting for a villain such as Chrysalis. The crisp “handclaps” and rhythmic “buzzing” on occasion really added onto the song, giving that feeling of a buzzing swarm of Changelings awaiting their command. Overall, such an infectious piece with enticing rhythms that have me getting lost in the music.
Celica Soldream – Living in Zephyr Heights (covering BlackenedBlue) | Metal
Almost a year ago, Blackened Blue gifted the world with his track “Living in Zephyr Heights,” an already amazing song that had me listening on loop for weeks straight. Recently, Celicia Soldream created a cover of the song that has me doing the same all over again! Unlike traditional covers that showcase musical talent using the same blueprint of the original song, Celica goes above and beyond with her cover and spices it up with tasty harmonies and additional lyrics that were not present in the original song. And that isn’t the only spice that this piece is serving up. Not only is her voice & range perfect for a song that is supposed to emulate Zipp singing the lyrics, but it has a very similar “edge” that matches Blackened’s style of vocals; I couldn’t think of another vocalist that would make a perfect cover of this already perfect song, and I can’t wait to see what Celica has in store for the future!
rawrity – touching grass | pop
The phrase “Go Touch Grass” has often been a negative phrase that people tell others on the internet to go chill out, get off the internet, and go outside. However, rawrity changes the stigma with one of her newest songs “touching grass.” From the synth buildup, to the fade out, what I appreciate most about this song is how it feels like a wakeup call that can be interpreted however it is needed, and the chill melody adds onto that realization. You can really tell when a musician puts their heart and soul into a piece, and this piece is no exception; this is always something I love about rawrity’s work: every single song was made with 100% pure passion and emotion, which I feel is how music should be.
Jyc Row – Goddess of Machines | Orchestral
Jyc Row has always been one of the household staples for epic orchestra with their impressive buildups and their choir vocalization, but this time they take it a step further with their track “Goddess of Machines.” While this song continues with said aspects of Jyc Row’s style of music, they added some industrial sounds to this track like synth bursts in lengths like a warning siren & a cyberpunk-style fade out, which perfectly emulates the feeling of a corrupted Sweetie Bot. I wish there was an actual movie trailer for this song as it feel like there is an actual Sweetie Bot movie coming to cinemas every time I listen to it.
EveryDayDashie – A Summer in The Kirin Tales | Chinese Folk / Rock
EveryDayDashie is back again with another Eastern-inspired track, this time about the Kirin. Using the traditional instrumentation for the Chinese Folk genre, Dashie blends in some traditional rock aspects to add extra levels of spice and drive to what would be a serene piece. Midway through the piece, the genre does a 180, switching to rock-style guitar and inspirational licks from Chinese melodies. It can’t be said enough that Dashie is a master of blending cultures – and this track is no exception!
SnowShovel – Luna (Alt Mode) 2023 (feat. Forest Rain) | Metal
It is 2023 and Eurobeat Brony’s famous track “Luna” still reigns as one of the most popular songs in the fandom, spawning many remixes and covers over the years, including Forest Rain’s ever-popular “Luna (Alt Mode)” that brought us a special fresh take to the original Eurobeat track in the “Rock” side of music. It is this version that inspired ShowShovel to make their original cover at the end of 2020 with a fresh vocal recording from Forest Rain, and this new “2023” version as well. ShowShovel really is one of the most talented guitar players in the fandom, from sweet, melodic style on parts like the introduction/solo guitar parts, to his deliciously punchy guitar sounds on the classic secondary melodies, and even the fast-paced driving melodies in-between. I still can’t get over that increasing drive at the end of the piece where it keeps going up to the next step in the bar. As far as I am aware, that wasn’t present in any of the previous two versions of the “Alt Mode,” but it fits perfectly before the melodic fall at the end. I know SnowShovel mentioned that it is hard for them to make music these days, but I hope they keep going strong and produce more amazing pieces like this one in the future.
EveryDayDashie – Pirates of the Ponyvillain | Classical / Epic Orchestral
Have you ever wondered what would happen if Disney and Hasbro came together to make a My Little Pony x Pirates of the Caribbean crossover? While that will probably never happen, we can at least imagine with EveryDayDashie’s song “Pirates of the Ponyvillain.” Featuring a reimagining of the famous “He’s a Pirate” tune and Dashie’s incredible talent on the violin adding onto said theme, this song is full of epic adventure from start to finish. It is Dashie’s subtle & signature MLP musical licks that they add to every one of their songs that shines once again, reminding us that this song is still pony at its core. If you told me this song was taken straight from the Pirates of the Caribbean OST, I would probably believe you at first.
Thrack – Canterlot Express (Feat Jesh PK and Ocean Breeze) | Acoustic Shanty
Things don’t need to be complicated to be amazing, and Thrack proves it here with his song “Canterlot Express.” This simple melody – with just a handful of instruments and accompanying vocals from Jesh PK & Ocean Breeze – perfectly emulates that feeling of passing time with strangers on a train as you all travel somewhere to start a new life. The lyrics capture Thrack’s goofy and charming personality as each verse introduces a new character on the Canterlot Express, explaining where they came from and why they are going to Canterlot. Sometimes all you just need one short, simple driving lick and entertaining lyrics to make a fun and enjoyable song.
ProtoShadez – Dark Reflection | Acoustic / Emo
It’s been ten years since we were introduced to King Sombra and the Crystal Empire, and I’m glad that musicians like ProtoShadez are still creating tracks to show a fictitious and more complex side to Sombra that the show missed out on. “Dark Reflections” catches this sorrowful Sombra with the intense yet expressive piano instrumentalization and raw, regretful screams out with the perfect amount of “edge.” It takes impressive talent to harmonize with yourself, and even more talent to make it sound astonishing. Shadez brings this to the table with his occasional octave harmonies laid over the main voice, almost like there was regret for the words not said. An unbelievable and soulful song that really made me sympathize for everyone who has to make major sacrifices for a greater good.
