It is always nice to see a new name dip their toe (hoof?) in the brony music scene, especially when they’ve been a part of the fandom for nearly a decade prior. Blurain’s second pony track “Breaking the Day” features an amazing buildup to brilliant overlaying vocals/harmonies as well as showcases his incredible talent at the guitar. However, it is the overall message of the song that shines the brightest to me as it speaks of Daybreaker’s persuasion to let Celestia unleash her “darker” side. Umm, yes please! Absolutely perfect in conjunction to his guitar style. I certainly cannot wait to see what other pieces Blurain has in store for the future.

EveryDayDashie – Spring Festival Encore 新春欢腾 | Epic Orchestral / World
It’s always a treat to hear the My Little Pony lick in a different musical style & on different instruments, especially when it is styled & mixed together with something as epic as traditional Chinese orchestra & musical storytelling. EveryDayDashie seems to reward us with a new style for every one of their songs, this time focusing more on a traditional Chinese style. But don’t let the name or style throw you off, this track is more than Chinese orchestral as we know it, adding non-traditional Chinese instruments to the mix like the unification of cultures; I still can’t get over the electric guitar stealing the show like the dramatic tension in a narrative. This song definitely felt like I was in the middle of a festival for sure, celebrating traditions of both past & present, and most importantly, giving us that feeling of a complete story.
Daniel Ingram – Equestria Girls Theme (JTH Remix) | Trance
JoinedTheHerd has seemingly become like the blockbuster movie franchise in the Brony music community: posts a new song/remix only 2-4 times a year, but when they drop, they are a masterpiece that has everybody talking for months before the next new track is dropped. This time, JTH has remixed a song that a lot of us probably forgot about – The Equestria Girls episode series’ theme song. This remix starts to build up towards its high energy charm that JTH is known for, but takes a surprising and sudden 180 to bring it down again to a sweet and almost atmospheric feeling, only to build itself up towards the high energy yet again. This song is a rollercoaster from beginning to end, of which my hands are up for the entire ride bopping to that infectious beat.
RoseTV – RISE (Feat. Nina Hope & JohnnyFerno) | Piano Ballad
Words sometimes cannot describe how much raw emotion can come from a single track, and as I sit here typing & re-writing this post, the one word I keep circumnavigating to is…wow…just wow… Where do I even begin? RoseTV definitely left a mark with this maiden pony track. Based off an old idea/theory that they made ten years ago about Luna’s transformation and mindset behind becoming Nightmare Moon, this dynamic track with combination of soft piano, simple drums, repeating lyrical lines, and distant harmonies will make you want to raise your arms up and absolutely pour your soul out to the lyrics with others in unity (in a similar fashion to the modern day “worship” songs). It’s a lyrical beauty that will turn off your mind and turn on your heart.
Ethan Tovas – Starsong | Pop
I’ll be the first to admit that I know very little about Generation 3 of My Little Pony, but thankfully Ethan Tovas has us covered with another song that is dedicated to another G3 pony to give us an idea of its vibe. Just like his other G3 pony tracks, the song aims to capture the essence of said title character, Starsong, with its sweet, airy vocalized melodies and background rhythm like a pony is gently pulling you in a cart through this adventure. I won’t spoil the little twists throughout, but let me just say, once you get to them, you’ll be dancing like its 2008 all over again.
Wandering Artist – The smell of books | Orchestral
Wandering Artist is back again with another track made specifically for one of Pony Town’s newest updates: The Library Update. In a similar fashion to their previous Pony Town tracks, this song aims to bring the idea and atmosphere of a quiet library with its soft instrumentation selection and slower tempo. Right out of the gate, the simple melody of woodwind & acoustic guitar fills you with a sense of calm and security, which is only heightened as the track progresses. This song is perfect for anyone who wants to cozy up by the fire with a good book or write the final three pages of their university thesis.
