fractilx (alias of InklingBear) has created some smooth, wubbly chillstep for us all to enjoy. His delicious sound selection and mixing synthesize the atmosphere, while the synths themselves are pluck-y and gentle. The drop manages to be both relaxing and invigorating simultaneously, by pairing excellent wubs with those eye-drooping synths. All throughout, the song keeps a singular style and never breaks from it. Enjoyable at any time of day!

Totalspark – Friendship (covering Aviators) | Soft Rock
Aviator’s classic Friendship is still one of my favorite songs by him. Seeing Totalspark do a cover instantly put a big silly smile on my face. And boy oh boy, is it good. Totalspark’s classic sound design introduces an almost ambient feel. His slightly sad, sleepy, almost hypnotic vocals are at once emotional and relaxing. Truly a wonderful take on Friendship.
Indie Notes – The Magic Within | Acoustic
Indie Notes’s excellent guitar playing and stellar vocals are at their best here. They fill this song with soul, to a degree I’ve barely ever heard. When it comes to lyrics, the ponies are here in force. Twilight reflects on her ascension, the magic she’s learned, and how Celestia has helped her so much in so many ways.
Mane in Green – Rarity In Love | Classical
Mane in Green creates a beautifully sweet and romantic classical work. Inspired by Rarity’s lingering feelings for Trenderhoof, this song is simply brimming with emotion and passion. The combination of piano, flute, and strings channels the heartache of unrequited love.
Michael Picher – Ancient Archeology: A Daring Do Adventure | Orchestral
This moving, Egyptian piece draws on Daring Do’s many adventures and the score of “The Mummy” for inspiration. Haunting, eerie strings and light piano notes guide us through an ancient tomb filled with lost artifacts and deadly traps. The masterfully orchestrated music is well paired with a lovely bit of SFM work by Starstrike42896, in a sort of PMV style.
[P@D] Pony Music – Solitude | Melodic Dubstep
With his trademark vocal chopping and unique electronic sounds, Pony Music makes a triumphant return! The drums on this piece are simple but strong, with the kick in particular standing out. Awestriking melodies and their accompanying vocals lead us through ever higher levels of energies. Then Pony Music brings it all crashing down with a wonderfully melodic, very wubby drop. Emotional on a level rare for dubstep, this song is a genuine delight to listen to.
[ASOS] Lorris – Another Way | Chillout
A potent brew of strong bassline, lovely melody, and astonishing vocal chopping marks Lorris’s contribution to ASOS. Sweet, joyous, and kind, Another Way brims with emotion. Compositionally, it’s a masterpiece as well, with soft, smooth sounds and a very oldschool bassline.
[P@D] DJT & ThatMusicBrony – Saviour / NeverLastStanding – Helios | Glitch Hop
The opening song for an album carries an immense responsibility, like the first sentence of a book: it has to hook the listener in and convince them to keep listening.
At this, Saviour excels. Right off the bat, DJT’s joyous melodies and wubs set the mood. ThatMusicBrony provides some truly amazing vocals. The lyris are waterlogged with emotions, and the effects (reverb and delay) on the vocals are unbelievable. All throughout, the sound design shines through brightly. What a way to kick off P@D!
And here’s some more traditional glitch hop from NeverLastStanding! With oldschool vocal chopping, complex sound, and a banging beat, this is an instant classic. It’s such a danceable tune, the kind that you hear and think “This is rave music right here.” But then, around 3:50, the song takes a sudden, unexpected, and delicious turn with very touching melodies. A total masterpiece all around!
TheMusicReborn – Magus Cantio | Vocal Orchestral
I love D&D, and wizard is probably my favorite class. So imagine my smile when I saw a song about Twilight Sparkle, described as a D&D wizard, on the queue. TheMusicReborn’s song didn’t live up to my expectations—it exceeded them in every regard! The vocals sound like an old story-song, and the lyrics describe Twily perfectly. It’s easy to imagine a wandering bard sharing the ancient tale of Twilight the Archmage around a flickering fire.
[ASOS] Greyfade – At Night | Chillout
At Night is the opening track of Lollipop, and thus it’s obliged to hook the listener to get them to keep listening. At this it passes with flying colors. Beautiful ambiance, perfectly cold kicks, and fascinating bass merge in interesting, strange ways to form the soundscape of a cold pond by night.
