[P@D] Michael Picher – Windigos | Orchestral
Among the many songs from Zenith being released, we’ve also got this track from last year’s Aurora from Michael Picher. Like a lot of his work, his approach to this seems to be that of scoring a narrative, moving through different acts and striking up different emotions. There’s a clever bit of circular narrative with the voices and motifs too – a very nice little touch!
[VibePoniez] GhostXb – Midnight Bliss | Downtempo
I love GhostXb’s chilled out hip-hop songs like this one. He manages to create pieces with full, punch drums, but the rest of the instrumentation still brings a sense of calm a relaxation. But this also has a bit of a twist as it gorgeously transitions halfway through into a more ambient section. It feels like a sonic representation of breaking through the clouds to a clear night sky… Fitting choice of background art then, isn’t it?
It’s VibePoniez Day!

VibePoniez, the fandom’s premier collective dedicated to chill music, are releasing their newest album “Downtown” today. And to celebrate the occasion they’ve arranged a Pony Town event! The party kicks off at 3pm Eastern with the album release itself, followed by a good few hours of DJ sets. But before that begins, we’ll be bringing you posts on the 3 pre-releases in the run-up to the event, to bring you a little taste of the album!
To join in, you can log onto the Pony Town events server or tune into the livestream on YouTube. We hope to see you there!
Top 10 Brony Songs of May 2022
It’ll come as no surprise that some songs from the new Ponies At Dawn album appear in this month’s Top 10, but I won’t spoil it any more than that! Go check it out for the fan-picked faves of last month!
[P@D] Osoch – Journey Home | Prog Rock
Closing out the new Ponies At Dawn album, Zenith, Osoch works his magic again to bring us this epic instrumental track. His musicianship and attention to detail really shine through, and you can really hear how much work has gone into this. Over the course of this song a solo guitar sings a story, slowly shifting dynamically through a triplet groove towards an ending that changes gear and shifts into something so majestic! The composition of this piece is also fantastic – so many aspects from the chord progressions to the harmony choices in the solos are just so unique.
MORE 👏 PONY 👏 PROG 👏 PLEASE 👏
Ethan Toavs – Make Your Mark | Orchestral
If, like me, you haven’t seen any of Make Your Mark yet, don’t worry – there are no spoilers here! In this piece, Ethan takes you through his interpretation and imagining of the story of this new series, based off the official synopsis. It features a full range of instruments from the orchestra and beyond to capture the grandeur of this new world and bring it to life!
Silva Hound – The Siren Song (feat. Wubcake, Namii & Brittney Ackerman) [Aventrix Bootleg] | Dubstep / Breakbeat
Here we have a short but solid take on Silva’s siren song, in the form of a bootleg remix from Aventrix. It sits at a tempo somewhere between dubstep and drum and bass, and has a couple of nice switch-ups between drum patterns to keep things interesting!
Top 10 Brony Songs of May 2022 voting opens
New month, new chance to vote on horse music. With a new Ponies At Dawn album thrown into the mix as well, there’s bound to be a sizeable number of songs to choose from! Tw3Lv3 – time flies. | Ambient
Tw3lv3’s had a string of releases this month, but I wanted to feature this one in particular as it’s always nice to see a bit of ambient music. Over its course, time flies ebbs and flows like the tide between deep bass with cinematic drums and ethereal pads, interspersed with birdsong. It’s incredibly relaxing, and BL1NKY sums it up better than me in a simple comment on the video: “song for make me sleep”. Go listen if you want it for make sleep too…
