Poster featuring the Rave of the House of Belles 2023 schedule

The annual charity event, the Rave for the House of Belles, is having its main event this weekend! This two-day concert event is held to raise awareness and funds for Mezair, a friend of the organisers and a plushie maker whose father is battling stage 4 cancer. Over the course of this weekend, you can catch 21 different sets from a range of performers and DJs, from 3pm Eastern each day.

The whole thing will be streamed on the Rave’s new Twitch channel, or on Emma’s YouTube channel. You can also join the Rave’s Discord server to find out more info and chat fellow ravers.

As mentioned above, this is all being run to raise money for Mezair’s father in his battle against stage 4 Lymphoma. The best way to give financial support is to contribute to Mezair’s Ko-fi if you are able. The next best thing is to spread the word of the event to help raise awareness. We hope to see yout there!

Equinity 06: Expedition | Compilation Album

In case you missed the release party at the end of last month, the compilation collective Equinity released their sixth album. Most of the 42 individual songs on this release are electronic, from house to dubstep to drum & bass, but there is the occasional rock or orchestral piece here and there. The artists featured this time around are also more diverse – some regular names make an appearance but there are also some new faces to add to the Equinity sonic universe.

All proceeds from Equinity’s albums also go to charity. For this album, the team have chosen to donate Hivos, an organization striving to bring gender equality, climate justice and several other important topics to attention especially in lesser developed areas of the world.

Expedition is available to download for any price from Equinity’s Bandcamp.

Blurain – Dear Luna | Alt. Rock / Metal

This song from Blurain, standing at nearly 7 minutes in length, is possibly his most ambitious single yet! Split into 5 parts, it moves from ballad to heavier pop-punk/metal to ambient instrumental as he draws on his own past experiences and calls on Luna to help him defeat his own Tantabus. Each change keeps you holding on to hear more – definitely worth the whole 7-minute experience!

EveryDayDashie – Aloha Equestria | Chillout

Grab your sunscreen – we’re heading to Hawaii next in EveryDayDashie’s musical world tour! This soundtrack-like piece just creates a nice, mellow backing track to accompany your sunbathing, featuring the sounds of a lap steel guitar and Dashie’s own ukulele playing. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go find my sunglasses…

ALostCarolean – All Hail The Queen | Darksynth

Need some dark, industrial-sounding synthwave but also enjoy classical pieces with multiple movements? ALostCarolean might just have you covered here with this 8-and-a-half-minute composition inspired by the bug queen herself. Grinding bass and floating lead synths pair together to make something that’s both atmospherically spooky and in-your-face scary.

Equinity 06: Expedition release party happening today!

Equnity are back! For the first time in nearly 2 years this collective has rounded up a collection of new songs to release on a 42-track compilation album. And what’s a compilation album release without a livestream party to go with it? From 9pm CEST (3pm Eastern) go to the Pony Town events server to join Greyfade and the Equinity team and artists in listening to the new tunes before the album gets its official release.

And if you want your own copy as soon as it drops, the album is available for pre-order on Equinity’s Bandcamp (or you could just even check out the tracklist!)
