Well well well, this is definitely something outside of the norm! I’ve enjoyed some of Modern Bard’s other electronic works, including his Awakening submission, and it’s great to see him make something so unique. This track is similar to the sounds of electronic pioneers from the 70s and 80s, specifically Jean-Michel Jarre who served as major inspiration for the soundscape of it. Definitely worth taking a listen to.

[HMC] CainbowRrash – Requiem For Melodic | Orchestral
Earlier this year, we learned of MelodicPony’s unfortunate passing. It was around this time that CainbowRrash started discovering the fandom, including Melodic’s channel. So in tribute, they’ve created this short but sweet piece, seemingly emulating Melodic’s style by using motifs from the show’s soundtrack and BGM. It’s also available on the recently released HMC Vol. 1 album.

Hey look who actually released something While the original version of It Isn’t predates this website, it’s great to see it still getting some love from Alikore who recently finished their remix of the song. Keeps the same tempo and pace of the original, but now with a much heavier feel and shift of focus towards the (excellent) sound design.
Horse Music Hotspot – November 2016
End of the month – time for another hotspot episode. Apologies it’s been uploaded a little later than normal this month, but now it’s available on YouTube, SoundCloud, and our podcast feed.
Another month draws to a close, and so it’s time for another episode of the Horse Music Hotspot. Despite and ongoing overwhelming presence of electronica, this month saw a great deal of rock and acoustic music, so there’s something for everyone in this month’s episode.

Filly in the Box – Manehatten Nights (Sky Runner Remix) | Drum & Bass
Sky Runner just doesn’t stop releasing tuuuune after tune. We’ve already seen what happened when she teamed up for a collab with FitB, now we have her remix of one of Filly’s songs, Manehatten Nights. Expect the same top-notch level of production on this liquid dnb track.
Quicksilver – A Better Place | Pop Punk
It’s somewhat unusual to see instrumental pieces from Quicksilver, but by no means are they of any lesser quality than any of his other work. And perhaps in this instance it’s for the better. When words fail to express emotion, music sometimes does a better job. A great tribute piece Quicksilver, well done.

CainbowRrash – The Mane 6 Symphony | Orchestral
Definitely not the first orchestral ‘symphony’ to cover the entire Mane 6, but definitely not the last either. It’s nice to see that even though other composers have done this sort of thing before, each one puts their own spin on it. Here you can clearly distinguish between the different sections, composed for each individual character, yet they all flow seamlessly into one another.

Do you think you can produce the best Christmas/Hearth’s Warming song? We’re holding a song contest to find the best Hearth’s Warming songs this season. They can be original songs or remixes of some of the show’s songs from the Hearth’s Warming episodes.
To submit, just upload a track to Pony.fm between now and the 18th of December and make sure to check “Submit to Hearth’s Warming Contest” in the track editor.
The best three songs made by you will be featured on the homepage of Pony.fm on the week of Christmas and you’ll be receiving an Amazon gift voucher ($50 for 1st place, $25 for 2nd and $10 for 3rd). Songs that are not featured in the homepage will be put into a Hearth’s Warming playlist for all to enjoy.
