On Friday 24th June, we learned from an article posted on Equestria Daily that MelodicPony, a well-recognised orchestral composer in the fandom, had passed away, reportedly from a stroke. Aged just 27, this Czech musician created pieces that garnered hundreds of thousands of views, and showed an incredible talent for composition. Today, we wanted to make a post in tribute to him and look at the music he left as his legacy; few in number they may be, but known by many and consisting of 2 years of productions. Lying somewhere between house and future bass is Silva’s take on Little Dreams for the deluxe version of Super Pony World. Songs that transcend or merge different genres are always interesting and Silva was on point with this remix, go check it out!
Originally written 5 years ago, Reverbrony thought it appropriate to record and release it recently, following the events in Orlando earlier this month. A real meaning behind the lyrics, and an adorable ship make this song both cute and powerful, and Lizy’s vocals speak the message so strongly.
Another track from Vylet’s new album, Super Pony World (we’ll have a post soon, it’s a big album), Victory in Canterlot lies somewhere between the realms of Glitch-Hop and Electro, incorporating elements from both. A fantastically produced song, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Vylet!
I was rather surprised to find this in my sub box – Archie made a song that’s below 120bpm! Jokes aside, this synthwave track from Archie is filled to the brim with 80s influence, sexy saxophone, and just a hint of a e s t h e t i c (okay, I wasn’t done with the jokes).
Combining post-hardcore, metal, trance, and drum & bass all into one song, Segments of Life has left me confused what to call this track other than an awesome piece of work! Have this full-on song to start off the day.
New track from NLD for you today, this time he’s trying his hand out at some tech house music. Slow progression and no chord changes never sounded this good! But really, it’s well produced with good mixing, see for yourself.
YourEnigma pleasantly surprised me a couple of months back with a fantastic future bass song, and now it’s great to see he’s done another take at the style with his remix of Little Dreams! And it’s a pleasure to hear some orchestral elements tied in there too, similar to his Tavi and Scratch series of songs, which create their own melodies on top of the electronic elements. Overall an amazing remix, and probably my favourite one of Little Dreams from the selection on the album!
Frozen Night finally uploaded their orchestral song track from Balloon Party’s latest album, Chromatic Horizons, released a few months back! Although it felt a bit out of place as the closing track to an otherwise completely electronic album, it holds up just fine as a standalone song.
