Pinkamena Party – PONYDOME VII: INJECTED WITH PONY | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre

Ah, the 7th Pinkamena Party Crew project. This time coming in the brand of Ponydome VII: Injected with Pony. Ponydome comes with 50 individual tracks and includes the PPC’s BronyCon 2019 performances. Here are some quotes from my favorite moments of the aforementioned performances:

“Pinkie Pie! Pinkie Pieee!!! PINKIE PIE! PINKIEeeEE PiEE!!!” “Ponyponyponyponyponyponyponyponypony.” “The year was 20 A.D., B.C., simultaneously. For the first time and the last time and the first time only, pingpingpingpingpingpingping.”

The fourth live jam entitled Applejack! also contains a spontaneous freestyle section from community veteran MicTheMicrophone. The album is fitted with a consistent intro, all the way from the think breaks and the atmospheric chords of En Vogue pts I and II to the piano funk of Lickety’s Split. After that, bring yourself to an amen-populated Hooverville with Enuna’s tracks Hooves for the Hoofed and Filly Meal Friends. For only the hardest floors, break necks with the eery Promenade and the ever-inventive diatonic gabber kicks of Pink Elephants at the Rave. Back to back acid tracks Oh Shit! It’s Paw Patrol and cmap.exe provide some very unique atmospheres to the album. For more unique emotions, follow the [non-]fiction of One Night in Cherry Jubilee. There are so many inventive bangers on this compilation that I wish I could cover them all in only this small paragraph. Instead, I strongly recommend listening on your own. If you like EBM, Hardcore, and supporting charity then you won’t be disappointed.

John Doe – Sweet Home | Soundtrack

New Pony Town music! Treat yourself in this relaxing collage of plucked strings, flute, and piano. The plucked strings set a celestial tone, the reverberant brass sets a grand query, and the flute and percussion answer it. The piano and strings then ride along until a new query comes about. Combined with the familiarity of Pony Town, this music won’t let you down in any armchair scenario.

[PP] Payyn & PoniPlague – Utter Flutter Blast | Breakcore

Destructively distorted basses, frenzied vocal samples, and rhythms that leave you speechless are only a few of the benefits of leaving this song on loop. Payyn and PoniPlague come together to bring you a genre this fandom absolutely needs more of. Fortunately, however, there’s an entire compilation album of it just waiting for your ears over at the Pinkamena Party Bandcamp. As a fan, I can assure that this piece will leave any dance floor in exhilarating mayhem. Except for like, a waltz or something. Just to be concise, don’t bring this to a waltz.

[PP] Spikey Wikey – Skinny & Bony | Gabber / Breakcore

Orient yourself for the rave-filled Ponydome VII with this acidic opener! Spikey Wikey introduces you to the oddity of Ponydome with a sample-filled Hardcore track. The song starts off with classic string sampling and ragga-themed vocals, to then progress to a 303-heavy groove over paced amen breaks. Through an interlude of saturated sample looping, the song transitions to a gabber beat with a doubled tempo, embracing the spirit of hardcore. Sprinkled with sampling goodness, this song subdues with a fade-out and will surely make you want to continue your Ponydome VII ventures.

One Track Mind – End is Neigh | Album | Synthwave / Ambient

One Track Mind introduces a collection of eleven undeservingly discarded electronic tracks. The strong sub and morphing resonances of the prelude track gives a taste of the wonderfully crafted ambient pieces in this album. Then the octave-switching neck-breaker known as Drama that follows gives you a taste of the synth-wave roots. The masterpiece Some Days, being my personal favorite of the album, incorporates a spatial piano playing tense chords and high melodies with a swingy drum track following it. The ending to Some Days also creates a near-perfect transition to the next song (both title-wise and sonically). For more ambient brilliance, follow the filtered saws and synth swells of Lethargy and the impactful basses of Hiatus. For more retrowave action, mosh along to the dark Deicide and the hopefulness of Neo-Canterlot! Varnished with consistently good intros and a piano composition as the outro, this solid Bandcamp release will surely be enjoyed by ambient and synth-wave listeners alike!

[EQY] Totalspark – State of Mind | UK Garage

Succumb to a slackened state with four minutes of chillout-inspired garage elegance. The drenched piano and emotionally significant lyrics propose a relaxed atmosphere, then the unbound, shifting drums complete the piece. The distress of the vocals locks in well with the watery hits of the piano and background synth. This song doesn’t fail with creating an influx of feels, and it deserves its spot on Equinity.

Daniel Ingram – The Pony I Want to Be (Cyan Lightning Remix) | House

Give away to a new remix of the legendary Ingram! Join a party of oscilloscopes as they guide you through a smooth re-imagining of a beloved show hit! Hitting all the best notes of the original, the vocals in Cyan’s remix glide like margarine over top the downbeat-heavy remix elements. Finally, the poise of the violin and the glockenspiel will surely take you back to Season 5!

Skelter – Rainbow Road | Drum & Bass

Not-so-new community artist Skelter introduces a new DnB track. With shifting legato melodies planting themselves inside loose drums and pure sub-basses, this instrumental won’t be alien to any DnB fan. The grace of orchestral breaks and gentle filter sweeps guarantee an interesting listen, so don’t miss out!
