My Band – Race On! | Pop/Pop Rock

Explicit lyric warning: some degenerate lyrics

What happens when you take 13 pony musicians, put them in a (discord) room and tell them to frankenstein a song within 14 days? A fascinating show of music talent from our fandom that is as awesome as it is crazy hopping from genre to genre. Want some funky pop? Starts right off with it! Some rock? They got you covered! Mix it up with a bit of rap? Hop right into this stitched together automobile of marvel! The ingredients used for this masterpiece of a hodgepodge may look weird laid out besides each other, but mixed together these all combine into a joyful experience and tribute to the creativity of all artists involved!

Skyshard – Aridia Theme | Soundtrack

With her latest Fallout Equestria track, “Aridia Theme,” Skyshard noted that this is her first time using an Arabian music scale, but by Jove, I think she’s nailed it! The track emulates the desert vibe perfectly with the wailing wind at its beginning, and its choice of instruments throughout. The bells and drums provide the perfect cadence for a trek through the sand, the strings evoke a sense of suspense, and the flute provides that final sweetness to the track like a cherry on top. It’s the perfect setting for an adventure, so I’m calling all sonic explores to check this one out!

Frozen Night – Fragmenting | Orchestral

Frozen Night’s newest album, Time’s Arrow, is finally here with the release of “Fragmenting” the album’s concluding track.  It begins with softly sustained, ambient tones suggesting moments before dawn cracks the sky.  Soon, it blossoms into passionate violins sawing back and forth with metronomic precision amidst tolling bells, warning of time’s unrelenting and unstoppable passage.  This thoughtful piece brings resolution at the end, giving a sense of a long chapter finally closed but leaving a blank canvas ready for the next great chapter to be written.

Drixale – The world to burn (VIP) | Pop

Sinister. Sadistic. Evil. These are not the words normal ponies associate with MLP, but Drixale’s Opaline themed track strikes that dark vibe perfectly, matching Opaline’s quest to become a fire-alicorn. The track opens with a mellow, high pitched synth taunting you before jumping in to an entrancing bass line with sharp, piercing claps. The deep, low vocals bring out the terrifying energy of its lyrics about nightmares, power, obsession, and of course, the world burning. This beat will definitely haunt you on your way through your fandom adventures.

RedSpark – Puppetmaster | Hybrid Orchestral

If there’s one thing that I absolutely adore, it’s when musicians mix electronic and orchestral elements for their song, like a Romeo & Juliet in music. And if there is anyone whom I’ve seen consistently produce bangers with this forbidden mix of elements, it’s RedSpark. Keeping a consistent, electronic-type bassline throughout the song, this song has all the energy that you’d expect for a typical electronic song, but it is the orchestral break that translate into a melody after the rise that keeps me listening. Keep doing what you do RedSpark!

NAMII & Galaxysquid – The Hardest Thing (covering JoafTheLoaf & Feather) | Acoustic/Folk

Back in 2013, JoafTheLoaf and Feather brought us an amazing love song with “The Hardest Thing”. Today, 11 years later, NAMII and Galaxysquid give us their own take on this tune. Keeping the calm melody of the original, the amazing voices of both adapt perfectly the lyrics telling of the struggles of having fallen in love with someone else, but not having the courage to tell that other. Gems from the past are always nice to see infused with new life, so make sure to spoil yourself with this excellent cover!

Thrack – Never Give Up (Feat. CantoAcrylic & Tall Pine) | Folk

Thrack has teamed up with Canto and Tall Pine to make a warm and hopeful track set in the Fallout Equestria universe. It opens with Pine going ham on a sick mandolin riff before Canto and Thrack take turns singing inspiring lyrics about never “give[ing] up the fight” even if it costs them everything. Towards the end, their voices join together briefly to modulate to a different key, and it’s absolutely heavenly. The instrumentation is also incredibly lush with guitar, banjo, mandolin, and even some glockenspiel. All together, this song’s sure to help you smile even through the darkest of times.

RedWire – CRYOGENIC | Drum & Bass

This erratic electronic track from RedWire depicts their own take on the origins of the Crystal Empire. The lyrics tell the story of a pony named Crystal Snow, who sets out to unlock the powers of the Crystal Heart and in so doing, finds herself consumed. Buzzing bass, frantic drums, and some wicked vocal effects create a captivating soundscape to complement this haunting, creative tale.

Koron Korak – Snowball Party in Ponyville | Electro Orchestral

Koron Korak blessed us with a cheery little Hearthswarming gift in the form of this short but sweet piece. A snowy picture is painted with playful melodies, bouncy chords, and of course, plenty of jingle bells! The theme may be chilly, but the vibe is warm as ever.
