It is always refreshing to see when art inspires art and MirroredReality uses that inspiration in such a gorgeous way! Magic of Kindness is a beautiful symphony of strings and lighter orchestral instruments like the flute. It was composed using the cover art picture as the concept for the track, which makes sense given the gentle and serene feel of the composition. The percussive gives a nice, fitting energy to the instrumental, managing to be thoroughly felt without being too loud.

Anyone that hasn’t checked out Matías Peñaloza yet really should! Their piano videos are memorizing to watch and fun to hear in the most technical of composition forms. In addition to getting to see a very talented musician, the videos link to sheet music and MIDI for many of the show songs, for which I must give Matías credit for helping others to learn and produce their own versions of these songs!
[P@D] Jyc Row & PegasYs – I’ll Fly High (feat. BlackGryph0n) | Epic Orchestral
Ponies at Dawn albums are home to some of the biggest collaborations around, that’s a well-known fact, and here we are able to witness Jyc’s endeavor with none other than the talented and bringer of brony family spirit BlackGryph0n, for top-notch vocals along an epic orchestral instrumental! And icing on the cake, the track also features PegasYs who is known for his lovely lyrics, among other things! An aerial piece that definitely belongs on Skyward!

BlueBrony‘s pony passion and imagination are always such a delight to witness in his pieces, and his contribution to Ponies at Dawn Skyward is quite the display of both story-telling and musical prowess! Along with much emotion from the rich composition, the unique vocals are gracing the album and telling BlueBrony’s tale of ponies building an airship, and it’s so very appreciated! We love you BlueBrony!
Chiptune Brony – Spike Vs. Queen Chrysalis | Soundtrack
Mad choirs and organ are immersing us in a last boss battle in this new OST-inspired track by Chiptune Brony! More precisely inspired by Motoi Sakuraba‘s battle themes, he provided another nostalgic and blissful experience for us OST lovers in the community, with those signature melodic and progressive aspects! You can do it Spike, I’ve trained you up to level 99 and unlocked all your special skills after all!
[P@D] Wandering Artist – Sky City (Day & Night) | Soundtrack
Full of the magic of OST music, Wandering Artist’s contribution to Ponies at Dawn Skyward features a breathtaking composition with gorgeous melodies, an atmosphere that calls for adventure, and a distinct emotion for the avid explorer. The fact that it’s a BGM for a “Sky City” is very pertaining to the theme of the album, too! A masterpiece of an OST-inspired track, and my personal favorite from the album!
Forest Rain – Bad Wolf: 2019 | Alternative Rock / Orchestral
From the all-new Discovery album (album announcement here), Bad Wolf: 2019 is a remake of the original 2013 track by Forest Rain, and you can tell it has been crafted with love! Displaying much creativity with electronic, rock and orchestral elements alike, it makes for a perfect musical accompaniment to celebrate the new album as well as Forest’s upcoming performance at Everfree Northwest on the 17th of May! Physical copies of the album will also be available there!
N4ghtwolf – Open Your Eyes (feat. Skylat & Liv & Learn) (Covering Aviators) | Orchestral
Covering a cherished community classic as a heartfelt tribute, N4ghtwolf gathered the help of Skylat and Liv & Learn to spark into creation this beautiful rendition of Aviators’ Open Your Eyes. The starry piano and orchestral arrangement is complementing so well the gorgeous vocals, and the trio definitely did wonders!
[P@D] RoomVR & Zephysonas – Starlight Sanctuary | Ambient/Orchestral
5 seconds into this song I was already in love with it! The vibrant sounds mixed with the perfect chords surround you as only pros like RoomVR and Zephysonas can craft. Starlight Sanctuary is a gorgeous instrumental that sets a peaceful nighttime landscape around you. The strings harmonize together wonderfully, reaching a deep level of emotions as if that is how nature intended. As explained by RoomVR, “This track is about my love for the night. I wanted to portray the feelings that I experience while looking up at the stars; feelings of love and comfort, wonder and awe… and peace.” This track as well as many other amazing songs are available now on Ponies at Dawn: Skyward!

Frozen Night’s abilities as a composer are practically second to none at this point in the fandom when it comes to big, powerful orchestral works. The fact that this one tells such a deep and complex story is especially impressive, working in unison with Lyra’s adventure throughout the Background Pony fanfiction. Each section is equally spellbinding in its own way, and is a journey that simply must be experienced. I dare say that being familiar with the underlying inspirational material would make it all the more powerful!
