Lukas Vokrinek – Black Magic | Orchestral

As a relatively new fandom producer, Lukas Vokrinek sure can orchestrate a big track! This song is a beautiful instrumental which builds on a sense of looming adversity. Black Magic makes great use of the lead violin as a tense, eerie mood setter, while the wind instruments in the orchestra help the song build into a big, intense piece. Each instrument fits very well together as written in this great composition that Vokrinek describes as a ” journey through knowledge and the struggles faced in order not to succumb to the lingering darkness”.

Another exceptional orchestral track from Radiarc, and this one has influences from a whole bunch of places. Designed around Queen Chrysalis, it absolutely suits her character. With elements of rock and jazz, and some gorgeous vocal sounds too, the atmosphere on show is perfect.

Nicolas Dominique – Kites | Chillout

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 18 June 2018.

Nicolas’ chillout works are almost always wonderfully calming, and this is one of my favourites of his recent releases! Consistent and clear pads and arpeggios combine with other lovely compositional elements to help immerse you in a sea of kites soaring through the air. Maud would almost certainly enjoy the atmosphere.

4everfreebrony – Right Here (feat. The L-Train) [ALBUM RELEASE] | Pop Rock

You should be excited about this release. 4everfreebrony has released a remastered version of The Pink Side of The Moon album and this track is the amazing new ending where after a big adventure, Pinkie finds everything she needed in her friends Right Here. The song begins softly, building through the verse before going into an extraordinary and uplifting chorus. From there the track takes off with electric guitar, rock beat, a phenomenal solo by The L-Train, and everything but the kitchen sink from 4everfreebrony’s arsenal of top-notch music production.

Ponytronic is still going strong, bringing us this excellent trance hit! Bygone is composed of several thematic sections, with each one managing to act as its own uplifting vibe. The track itself is adventurous and uses a solid drum beat to keep everything exciting. With some added psy elements, Ponytronic manages quite a feat by putting so much work into a very worthwhile track!

Exiark and lia;quo are unarguably two of the best producers in the fandom when it comes to their ability to combine modern and powerful sound design with memorable and interesting arrangement and composition. To have them both team up for a track together is therefore something that just had to be awesome! This tune combines beautiful melodic sections with aggressive and sleek drops to really create an awesome piece.

DoctorSympony – Making Muffins | Orchestral

DoctorSympony is back at it with a quick track dedicated to everyone’s favorite mailmare. The song is a whimsical instrumental, written as a soundtrack to Derpy baking muffins. While Making Muffins starts out silly and laid back, it escalates into a crazy adventure – showcasing DoctorSympony’s creativity and humor. The song feels right at home as a piece of background music, doing so well in its role to set a vivid scene that you don’t need to physically see for you to feel it.

Jastrian’s Celestia-inspired works seems to have a special quality to them. This one definitely shows that, with a gorgeous blend of vocal chops and uplifting synths, arranged in an intricate and interesting way with plenty of upbeat goodness.

Ditherer – Flowcellus | Hip Hop

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 11 June 2018.

Ditherer’s followed up his recently released album with some more music pretty quickly, and this one’s super fun! It’s a solid track on its own, but the main idea of it is that it’s got a whole lot of verses, with plenty of different attempts at fitting the style of a multitude of other rappers from the fandom, from oldschool names like MicTheMic, Swagberg and Lulz, as well as newer ones like Wootmaster and N. Hollow.

Quicksilver – Night Shifts and Politics | Punk

Quicksilver is an expert in creating awesome rock tracks and this time it is based off of a very beloved episode, A Royal Problem. “Night Shifts and Politics” is Luna’s vocal narrative of wanting to make the trade back for her job as the princess of the night instead of dealing with all the daytime politics. The track has great guitar work, a driving percussive beat, and all the elements for which we love the veteran rocker!
