Hay Tea – Rarity Noir | Hip Hop Instrumental
All the potential from season 5 episodes is far from being dried up. It continues to inspire, resulting in musical interpretations such as this smooth Hip Hop Instrumental track that fits very well to the mood of Rarity Investigates!, perhaps making for a great “main theme” for the episode.
Metapony – Sakura | Progressive House
The word “sakura” stands for cherry blossom petals, an important cultural symbol in Japan, usually representing a new beginning with new hopes, along the start of spring and the new semester in Japanese schools. It is quite a clever title for one of the tracks opening the ball of the new Ponies at Dawn album (reminder : you can preorder it here), and a much uplifting Progressive House masterpiece at that! Using such classic pony samples as Twilight from I’ve Got to Find a Way, its positive melodies and sounds will make you feel as light as a sakura falling from a cherry tree (which speed is exactly of 5 Centimeters Per Second, by the way).
Virus Ponies – Sad mind | House
An interesting piece close to being a “concept track”, Sad Mind is evoking a certain melancholy, and the strings-like sounds are definitely embodying Octavia. With a musical mood reflecting the theme, orchestral notes and a pretty awesome sound design, this song is like a story unfolding!
Totalspark & AnimatronicPony – Hail to the Swarm (feat. Cadie) | Dubstep
It’s time to show some more love to Chrysalis and the Swarm, and this new collaboration is doing just that! Featuring Cadie playing her voice acting part as Chrysalis to perfection, and AnimatronicPony contributing with ambiant parts, this new Dubstep track is both a powerful tribute to the Swarm and a banger to party to!
A Symphony Of Two – Lost Freedom | Trip Hop
Tom from A Symphony Of Two (formerly Ponycide) reveals a wonderful Trip Hop masterpiece with a subtle yet definitely present Ambiant vibe, empowered by the cover art. Immerse yourself into the piece, delightfully reminding me of BGM field tracks such as The Way, as the beautiful piano melodies unfold, perhaps embodying the raindrops, and as the mellow saxophone and trumpet plays from both Tom and his dad guide you while you wander along those streets.
fractilx – l’amour de chiot | Chillout
Cute tracks from Fractilx are always a delight to get, and here we’ve got one about Spike as seen in the EQG movies, and how neither Twilight or any of us could possibly resist to such cuteness. Puppies are generally cuter than dragons (although the latest episode proved us the opposite), and, as Rarity would have it in her French antics, c’est un amour!
Little Jester – Senses | Piano Ballad
Little Jester graces us with a delightful ballad, using both orchestral instruments as the piano and rock instruments as the bass guitar. Featuring beautiful and contemplative art from Underpable, the track’s sweet melodies and sensory nature will soothe your mind and soul.
Redd Pony – Praeteritus | Grunge
Redd unleashes his potential and creativity in this new Grunge track made with much passion. Structured in 3 parts, this kind of “concept track” will take you all the way to the Everfree Forest, but not for an amble… this is about being hunted by the spooky creatures roaming free in the forest! Embark on the perilous journey, and don’t forget that music is magic, that inner power could help you repel the darkness!
