Quicksilver is back and rocking just as awesomely as ever! This time he brings us a great ska punk instrumental which trades off between high-octane punk sections and more mellowed out ska progressions. After being busy with college for the last year, the Luna Ticks veteran let’s us know that he is finally getting Caught Up! One of the rare ska musicians around, Quicksilver quickly reminds us why he is one of the best songwriters with a guitar in hand!

Steel Chords – Never Give Up [Re-Mastered] | Pop Punk
Digging back quite a ways, Steel Chords brings back this beautiful homage to the tireless efforts of the Cutie Mark Crusaders and their quest for cutie marks. Never Give Up is upbeat, cheery, and easy to move along to, giving off the vibe of early punk classics – much like the young CMC! Steel re-released the track to coincide with his concert appearance at this year’s St. Louis Crystal Fair where the song first premiered. In many ways this was a perfect way to reintroduce the track as the song itself has a very nostalgic feel knowing what we know now compared to when it was first written.
Vylet Pony – Daybreaker | Punk
Warning: some explicit lyrics
I’ve had my suspicions that there’s no style of music Vylet can’t do well and this confirms it! Executing a great, old-school, underground punk track about Daybreaker, Vylet shows off his huge range as well as the angst of Celestia’s evil, alter-ego. The production is spot-on, ensuring the emotion in the vocals is front and center, as Daybreaker yells at her sister, Nightmare Moon, about the world they could have ruled together. Even the accompanying video feels like it was made in the 70s old school punk era, punctuating the brilliance of both DAYBREAKER and Vylet!
Steel Chords – Sweet Apple Acres (feat. EVBP & Djohn Mema) (Bowling For Soup ponified) | Pop Punk
Steel Chords is back and this time he brought friends! Parodying Bowling For Soup’s hit song Ohio (Come Back to Texas), Steel sings about Applejack’s trip to Manehatten as a filly to live with her Aunt and Uncle Orange. He describes how the Apple’s back at the orchard miss their beloved sister while she is gone. EVBP provides the guitars and bass, while Djohn Mema rocks the drums. With funny and clever references to other episodes, creative harmonies, and a gritty, punk feel, Sweet Apple Acres is a great take on the original track!
EnergyTone ft. FritzyBeat & ElectroBlitz – Hearts Strong As Horses (covering Daniel Ingram) | Pop-Punk
Here’s an awesome show cover from a very talented trio of musicians! EnergyTone recruited FritzyBeat and ElectroBlitz to be in his Cutie Mark Crusader group for this high-octane version of Hearts as Strong as Horses. All three do a great job vocally and make the track feel very fitting for three guys covering the parts. The distorted guitars and rock drums give a lot of power to the song and make it stylistically amazing and energetic!
Crusader! – Life Of Adventure | Rock
NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 11 April 2018.
Inspired by the pirates from the MLP Movie, we’ve got an awesome sea shanty-style rock tune from Crusader! that has some great energy to it. The vocals fit in well with the vibe of the instrumental, and it’s a suitable soundtrack to the characters.
Francis Vace – What You Made Me Do | Punk Rock
Off the must-have album The Old Mare And The Sea, What You Made Me Do is a very deep and emotional song about Celestia’s feelings and character depth in a certain alternate universe explained in the description. Francis’ very moving vocals are doing wonders once again to convey all the depth and force from the events unfolding and the feelings nurtured, and the instrumental isn’t lacking fitting Punk Rock vibes!
EnergyTone – Apples to the Core (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Rock
All of the awesome songs from the show shall never be forgotten, and EnergyTone’s cover of Apples to the Core is giving the musician’s Rock spin to the original all while paying much tribute to it. Rocking riffs and energetic vocals are all chanting that anthem for the Apple family all over again, including Pinkie of course!
Crusader! – Time To Be Awesome (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Pop Punk
Crusader covers his favorite song from the movie in his signature style, uplifting guitar and vocals ahoy! Singing like a pirate from the crew at heart, the musician cheers for Captain Celaeno and the other sky pirates in his own way, and not without performing a super cool guitar solo near the end! I’m sure Rainbow Dash would approve. By the way, her birthaversary is coming up, on February 1st this year!
