Osoch – Gimme R D (Covering ismBoF) | Metal

Inspired in his early fandom days by IsmBoF’s original, Osoch has developed his skills greatly in the years following and created the arguably definitive version of Gimme R D! Just about everything, from the guitar tones to the varied percussion, has been refined but nowhere does it lose the soul of the classic original song. Another wonderful addition to the Osoch catalog!

Rod Steven – The Magic of Friendship Grows (covering Daniel Ingram) | Eurobeat

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; the singing voices of MLP were meant for EDM. Rod Steven’s been doing a great job at continuing the legacy of Odyssey Eurobeat, and it shows with this remix of The Magic of Friendship Grows. All throughout the song are the elements you’d expect in a Eurobeat song, such as the bouncy synth riffs and stabs, upbeat tempo and offbeat bass. The magic of Eurobeat grows!

Tadpole – S.O.S |Industrial/Ambient

Cookies…

Nightmare Night is upon us, and what better way to celebrate it than with a deeply creepy piece from Tadpole? What we’ve been served is something that wouldn’t be out of place in a horror game, as it spends the first 2 minutes building up atmosphere with a droning synth lines and distant sound effects before eventually adding in more elements, like a bass that compliments the already strong atmosphere. Soon after, we’re treated to the addition of strong drums lifted straight from a dubstep track alongside a creepy distorted synth riff. Board up your windows, because the cookie zombies are coming!

Marcus Warner – First Flight 2019 | Orchestral

The 2012 masterpiece First Flight gets revamped by the maestro himself, and it is on brand new skies that we can now re-experience the Scootaloo-themed beauty. With an impressive progression and an intense buildup reflecting the emotion of Scootaloo’s First Flight, this new version definitely hypes up Marcus’ “Reprise EP” some more!

Zephysonas – Equestria at War (feat. Osoch & Soul Strings) | Epic Orchestral

Matching an epic artwork of the finale with epic music, Zephysonas provides such an intense theme featuring lovely melodies, as well as Osoch on the drums and Soul Strings on the bass. A team effort, strong enough to vanquish these villains for sure!

[P@D] NeverLastStanding – To Home | Rock / Happy Hardcore

Track 6 of Ponies at Dawn: Eternal is the album’s first rock-driven song, and serves as a brilliant tribute to the show. All throughout the song are fast-paced drums, major key synths and to top it all off, MLP vocal chops which are even spliced together to make new lyrics. The song also has three different phases, starting off which electronically-charged rock music reminiscent of an anime, a brief orchestral segment to slow things down, and then towards the end, a big build up before going into a fully electronic motif lead by a powerful kick sound in front of the cheery synths. The track makes it clear that the show has left its mark on us, and it feels like the mane 6 are singing directly to us!

Damien Nagy – Salvation | Soundtrack

Another OST track used for Damien’s MP3 Saga “Erebys” and composed by Damien himself, this song is not only providing a BGM accompaniment to the scene, but enacts the dialogue as well with beautiful vocals sung in French. We don’t often get French songs in the community, so this is very welcome! The second episode of the MP3 Saga is out, by the way!

Rusty Thorsell – The Gibble The Gooble | Indie Pop

It’s Spooktober, and our beloved Rusty answered the call to make a fittingly spooky track! With the unique-ness that you’d expect, The Gibble The Gooble enacts a wonky dialogue further depicted by the cover art, and playful melodies are blending with the eldritch vocals so well!

Remember Falling – The Sun is Dark | Hybrid Orchestral

After a long hiatus, Remember Falling has returned with her first track since April, The Sun is Dark. This one in particular is a piece from her upcoming album Dawn Into Dusk, and the emotion felt in this song is palpable. From both the vocals with lyrical themes of recovery and longing to be found to the hybrid orchestral backing which starts off slowly before picking up and then climaxing with a big boost in tempo towards the end, this number is a great example of what RF is capable of. Dawn Into Dusk might also be coming out before this year ends, so keep an eye out!

[P@D] Totalspark – You (feat. Namii) | Garage

Nearing the tail end of Ponies at Dawn: Eternal with track 69 is a collab between Totalspark and Namii. It’s a beautiful garage song with plenty of atmosphere, all brought together with heavy reverb, soft piano chords and a duet between the two musicians. Both of their voices fit the song perfectly while being backed by a subtle drum beat which acts as a great supplement to the rest of the track, also making a great fit in the very last segment of the album, bringing it all down to a gentle simmer.
