MrDeLoop – Discord | Kinetic Typography

I think it’s amazing that MrDeLoop, perhaps best known for his various pony videos, has managed to make such successful endeavours into the music scene. Not only has he got a b r a n d   n e w typography video for us, but he wrote the music to it himself too! Wow! Bazinga! [Interjection]!

The Living Tombstone – Discord | Moombahcore

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, this remix song is sooooo good. I love the melody in here & the drums are so punchy. The way the vocals are used are fantastic & make me feel good when “discord’ comes. INOESFNSEOINONOIGE. BUT WHEN THE VOCAL CHOP BITS COME, I LOVE THAT A LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. It’s really iconic & then the backing kind of pluck thing the best part is THE MAIN MELODY. Eurobeat Brony – Discord | Eurobeat

One of the freshest horse tunes I’ve heard in a while, talented producer Eurobeat Brony brings us what is sure to end up being a rousing success for him. An awesome combination of catchy melodies, excellent vocals and super cool eurobeat sound design, this piece promises to entertain fans for years to come. Who knows, maybe we’ll even get some highly innovative and clever remixes for it?

Thyrai – Injuring Eternity | Progressive House

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 27 March 2017.

Thyrai seems to be getting pretty great at upbeat house music, as shown by another excellent release here. Featuring solid percussion, a catchy chord progression and some nice lead synth sounds this is definitely one to jam to. There’s some great music box-style sounds  and some violin in the break, and overall it’s a pretty powerful piece.

ThePloyMaker – A Night in Manehattan | Jazz

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 27 March 2017.

A new musician appears with a pretty awesome piece! We don’t hear much jazz in the fandom and The PloyMaker seems to have some skill with it. This piece focuses on some lovely trumpet and saxophone sounds, with soft drums helping to set the jazzy atmosphere. Give it a listen for a lovely night out in Manehattan!

Reverbrony – When Monsters Dance | Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 26 March 2017.

Reverbrony’s series of super heavy metal instrumental tracks continues with this powerful Chrysalis-focused piece. Aggressive guitars, pounding drums, it has everything one would expect from this style that Reverb has made his own recently. The artwork fits the piece perfectly, and there are some pretty awesome guitar melodies that pop up throughout the piece.

Daniel Ingram – Friends Are Always There For You (syzygy. Remix) | Melodic Dubstep

syzygy. continues his streak of brilliant remixes with his take on one of the more recent show songs—this time opting for a lush, supersaw-laden style. Between squishy leads and gated chords, this remix provides an all-new instrumental frame while keeping the vocal arrangement intact, thus departing from the traditional two-drop-structure we’ve all come to expect. Instead, all the transitions play off of the vocals wonderfully, and you’re rewarded with a sweet orchestral outro if you keep listening until the end. Complete with interesting bits and pieces of sound design throughout the entire track and a fair attention to detail, syzygy’s remix definitely gives the more popular remixes of Friends Are Always There For You a run for their money.

The song is available as a free download from mediafire, so make sure to add it to your collection!

Ataraxia – Six Stars | Piano Solo

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 25 March 2017.

Another new track from Ataraxia’s recently released album Eternal Perfect Motion, this is a continuing example of how great he is at producing piano-centric pieces. This one is a lot more upbeat than the last couple, and makes some great use of heavy piano chord hits whilst dancing around wonderfully. There are also some subtle strings that come in at times. Give it a listen for some Twilight-flavoured piano!

Francis Vace – Cold Feet Pt. II | Ska Rock

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 25 March 2017.

Francis Vace has been uncharacteristically quiet recently, but that’s because he has a new album coming out very soon, called The Old Mare And The Sea! This is the first release from the album, and is a follow up of sorts to a track he wrote some time ago called Cold Feet. His voice shines here, with some great vocal melodies especially in the chorus, which is super catchy. There’s also some classic ska horns as well for those who dig that stuff as much as I do.

Redstone Brony – Risen | Progressive House

While I do think the Redstone’s mixing needs work (perhaps the choice of kick too if I’m being picky), I’m loving the classic prog house style melodies and synths he’s constructed and used in this piece. Room for improvement often means an artist can only get better though, so they’re definitely one to watch for future releases.
