Our friendly neighborhood Crusader responds to the Club Pony Party Palace from S06E09 The Saddle Row Review with his own musical contribution in Vinyl Scratch’s set there, and his lovely vocals are doing wonders along the very fitting electronic arrangement, extending those dance club vibes from that part of the episode, and it’s so very welcome!
Month: April 2019
Elias Frost & StealingShad3z – Young Rebel Crusade | Classic Metal
An incredible treat from our friends Elias Frost and StealingShad3z, Young Rebel Crusade proves once more that some themes in the show will never get old no matter how many times they get explored. The duo followed up on those 80s Metal vibes from the CMC’s song in the S1 episode The Show Stoppers with a perfect tribute song and also artwork, and it’s so appreciated! You guys ROCK!
UndreamedPanic – Grogar The Creator (feat. PrinceWhateverer) | Dubstep / Metal
Among the highlights of the month in pony music, UndreamedPanic and PrinceWhateverer‘s fusion track brings incredible style and hard-hitting-ness for a wicked track about the season opener’s new villain. Enacting an epic battle as imagined by Panic, the heavy banger will be a timeless gem to be appreciated again and again I’m sure!
Evdog – Where is the Old Fluttershy | Classic Pop
There’s always something new happening in the fandom music world, and this team of musicians really raised the bar! Evdog put together quite the collaboration by recruiting the vocal talents of Replacer and FritzyBeat for this long-running project! Available now on A State of Sugar’s album Ice Cream, Where is the Old Fluttershy is a hot take on the Iron Will episode where our dear yellow-quiet learns to stand up for herself. The track is in a very “Jersey Boys” style with fantastic harmonies, doo-wop style melodies, and classically imitated vocal talent.
Agents of Discord, Sasha Lace – Friendship is Magic (Remastered Mix) | Experimental House
A driving force behind the experimental label noise.horse, Agents of Discord is back at it with a remastered version of an old track, dedicated to the theme song of the show. Friendship is Magic has a variety of sections ranging from the house-y synth and bass driven melody, to bell-centric parts, and even a techno-style ending, with each part focusing in some regard as a tribute to the opening theme. While experimental in nature, the track is nevertheless pleasing to listen to and always interesting despite being a longer song!
JayB – I Love Everything (Toby Macarony Remix) | Electro Swing
You never know what you are going to get with Toby Macarony and this time, it’s an exciting, upbeat remix of JayB’s classic I Love Everything. The track starts with a flashy, moving piano part before the synths, drums, and trademark Fluttershy vocals take over. An added synth solo in the middle and Fluttershy-centered breakdown shortly after keeps things interesting while still maintaining the famous TM style!
Nicolas Dominique – The Spark of Inspiration | Liquid Drum & Bass
Embracing the peaceful and positive vibes from that Coco Pommel artwork, this equally positive and gorgeous instrumental from Nicolas Dominique is such a soothing trip and the heavenly melodies are lulling the soul along the powerful bassline, for a blissful experience!
Prey – Princess Of The Night | Trap
A sick Trap beat to herald the fated comeback of Nightmare Moon, that’s what you’re in for with this new pony release from Prey! Screeching synths and tasty bass are creating such a fitting atmosphere for the theme along the vocal samples, and this concept track is a shining success!
Mane In Green – Galloping | Orchestral / Soundtrack
Cute, playful, poetic, elegant, there’s many words that we could use to describe this amazing new piece by maestro Mane In Green, yet the song speaks for itself and words wouldn’t be enough to describe its sheer beauty. Doing wonders at his favorite instrument the harpsichord, Mane pays much tribute to our beloved Rarity with a stunning composition and arrangement that would surely make her proud!
Brilliant Venture – Strange New World | Electronica
You can always count on Brilliant Venture to make something bright and uplifting. Strange New World starts out with a nice beat, then adds layer upon layer of instruments and great pony chops until it has that trademark BV feel. The synth work moves the song nicely and the back and forth pony samples are top notch!
