Koa – To The Nines (PegasYs Remix) | Electro Pop

PegasYs makes a glorious return with his first upload in nearly 2 years: a remix of To The Nines from Ponies at Dawn: Eternal! This new take on the Koa original is a slower, more laid-back rendition with a slappier bassline and brilliant soft synth riffs while still utilising Koa’s gorgeous voice, keeping the same emotions as the original. It’s as if Rarity and Vinyl Scratch have teamed up to create a hit song in Equestria!

Hoofy – P!NK GVNG | Dubstep

Heavy is the hoof that brings the noise. Hoofy’s latest tune is P!NK GVNG, an intense dubstep track that combines elements of trap, breakbeat, drum & bass and even metal at one point. Starting out with a trap beat, we’re then thrust into a big buildup before being bludgeoned with intense wubs and heavy drums. A couple of bars even feature the iconic Amen Break with powerful DnB bass behind it. This beastly banger will be sure to make a crowd go insane!

Aventrix – Searching For Harmony | Trance

Aventrix ventures into trance territory for the first time with Searching for Harmony. What follows is an adventurous sounding melody that resembles the MLP theme. The overall track sounds like a trance piece from the early/mid 2000s, giving it a nostalgic feeling which is always a bonus. Should be no surprise given how far the fandom’s come!

Tadpole – Twilit Remembrance | Future Bass

I’ve said it plenty of times but it bears repeating: these ponies’ voices were meant for electronic music. Twilit Remembrance is a smooth Future Bass track that utilises plenty of vocal chops of Twilight’s voice along with beautiful synth riffs and pads alongside a trap beat. A catchy reminder of the show that made all this possible!

[P@D] Francis Vace & Evdog – Perennial | Pop Rock

The ever-familiar Francis Vace has teamed up with Evdog for track 10 of Ponies at Dawn: Eternal! A softer track by Francis’ standards, it’s a duet between the two, with Francis taking the role of Pear Butter and Evdog as Bright Mac. The two’s voices come together greatly and perfectly accent the soft music which keeps some of Francis’ signature style of rock with the occasional horn. These two ponies were made for songs like this!

[Helpie’s Corner] PeKaNo – The Pit | Drum & Bass/Ambient

Sometimes it’s hard to move forward, even though time waits not for you… Track 5 from the recently-released Helpie’s Corner compilation Other Side of the Mirror sees an emotional drum & bass/ambient hybrid song from PeKaNo that follows the album’s theme of loss. The first part of the song sees a fast drum & bass beat placed over a slower, more emotional beat alongside a synth, string and piano combo, before the drums fade out to the sound of Twilight’s voice saying “I could have gained a sister, but instead, I just lost a brother” as the piano and atmospheric synth continues to ring out, giving time to reflect and dwell. Emotions have been running wild in the fandom lately.

[Equinity] Spikey Wikey – Shining Free VIP (Single Purpose Remix) | Drum & Bass

Drum and Bass is such an exciting genre to listen to, and this track is a great example of why: it’s fast paced, has some awesome electronic music, with the drums in the background making a great rhythm. This one in particular uses lines from the show, which mix in great with the music.

Thrasher – Welcome To Insanity | Album | Industrial Metal

Industrial metal musician Thrasher’s third studio album is finally here, and it’s definitely a treat. With 11 tracks of industrial metal goodness, this is an album you won’t want to pass up. Emanon, Blackened Eyes and A Villain’s Descent were released as pre-release singles, which leaves us with 8 brand new stellar songs to hear. After the album’s ominous opener, Evolution, we’re greeted with powerful metal tracks in the form of Emanon and Annihilation. Both of these songs are erratic and fast-paced, filled with chugging guitars that you’ll easily find yourself headbanging to. Track 4, – Disoriented – starts out with a unique Indian-inspired atmosphere, with tablas and sitars leading the intro before bringing the rhythm section and distorted guitars into the mix, making what can best be described as a heavier Tool-sounding song. The middle of the album sees a minute long interlude, consisting of a distant electric guitar ringing out before heading into the transition for the next track, Insanity. The two stand out tracks on this album are Colossus and The Word Above, both of which are longer than 6 minutes. Both tracks are heavy, filled with electronic elements and feel a lot shorter than they actually are. Overall, this album is a must-listen if you’re into industrial metal such as Fear Factory. You won’t regret it in the slightest.

Silverwing – New Beginnings | Piano Solo

In yet another case of an older fandom musician making a grand return, Silverwing has just released the appropriately titled New Beginnings, his first official track since Tranquil Memories from May 2015! New Beginnings is a lovely improvisational solo piano piece that sounds hopeful and optimistic about the new future that we may get now that FiM has ended. The slow pace makes it feel like the start of a new era after the old one closed out with a bang. Welcome back, Silverwing! We can’t wait to see what you come out with next.

Francis Vace – AJ’s Honest Apples | Ska Punk

Let’s take a moment of silence for the people who ate apples in 1982… Alright, now that that’s over, let’s listen to the third track from Horses In Real Life by Francis Vace. This nearly 3 minute long song is full of tasty ska goodness, just like the apples AJ sells. She’s fallen through the TV and made her way into human civilisation, where she makes a living through selling her signature honest apples. At least she’s doing well for herself, unlike another certain pony… For a challenge, try and count how many apples fall to the ground in the video. Good luck!
