Summer is winding down to an end, but the music keeps coming! We have features this month from a new compilation album and even a brand new promotional channel.

Something nice and relaxing to end the night with. I can’t analyse it properly, but I always seem to enjoy the gentle, flowing sounds of some of CrystalData’s songs. A little bit of minimalism works really well from time to time.
And with this, Sprocket’s Princess Variations collection is complete: a series of songs revolving around a theme and based around a recurrent chord sequence. This jazzy piece even features the legendary Sax Brony with his own solo. In case you haven’t heard any of the other parts, go take a listen to the whole thing!
Happy upbeat hors needs happy upbeat music, and that’s exactly where this song delivers. It’s a fun upbeat track with big synths and sweet melodies, and the little plucked string reprise at the end is a nice touch too!
I’ve not actually seen any of the EQG Summertime Shorts, but I don’t imagine this counts as any kind of spoiler ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The poppy original version of this songs transfers really well into a guitar-based song though, and Sable’s voice really packs a punch in the choruses!
It’s been a while since I last saw Inkwel’s name, but it’s great to see they’re back with this chiptune-infused future bass track. This particular style reminds me of the early days of the genre, with lots of nice clean synths and arp sounds.
I wish I knew how to label this more specifically than just “orchestral” because this piece is very different to a lot of the big, epic orchestral pieces I often see. It’s short, but super sweet and cute keyboard/piano-driven piece, and it’s one of those songs created in a sudden burst of inspiration – something which often leads to a surprisingly amazing finished product.

And if one compilation album wasn’t enough for you tonight, here’s another one! South Korean brony & furry label Magnus Records teamed up with our very own Cider Party to bring you a mini-album that packs a real punch. The 6-track release features Magnus regulars Einarx and Mantlegen but also has appearances from Lovestruck Brony, AJ Young, Suskii, and Chang3ling. All in all it’s a great selection of bass-heavy producers and a more bitesize compilation album for you to try.
You might have seen a couple of songs from this out already, but in case you missed it, Horse Music Central released their 4th edition of their seasonal compilation albums. The general theme of summer covers the album, but as per usual each artist gets to showcase their own style. With a mix of long-time staple artists and some slightly newer faces, it’s a great chance to check out some new artists.
